    Charles Malet interviews Jerm.

UK Column News - The Battle of Ideas—with Jerm
    1 hour 4 minutes - Posted May 1, 2025

    Show notes

A long-established cartoonist in his native South Africa, Jerm’s perspective was shaped by the declared end of the division of the apartheid era: a transition in which censorship survived intact. Having broken out of the mainstream before the worldwide Covid tyranny began, he was well set to explore those beliefs and ideas increasingly labelled as dangerous via the media of cartoons and podcasts.

Jerm describes the building of resilience in response to the failure of the South African state, as well as the balance between the application of the red pill and the white pill. The Jerm Warfare brand has emerged as a leader in its field, asking only of the audience that they are prepared to question everything.

With well over a thousand interviews under his belt, Jerm now produces a Jerm Warfare programme for UK Column. To find out more about his work, go to his own website or to his page at UK Column.

Alex Krainer tries to understand Trump’s tariff wars with China
    1 hour 7 minutes - Posted May 6, 2025

    Show notes
Jerm and Alex discuss the ongoing tariff war, questioning if it’s a strategic move by Trump or just for show. They explore how Trump’s policies affect the US economy, the role of tariffs in trade, and the shift towards a multipolar world that could weaken the US dollar’s global status. Alex highlights the US economy’s vulnerabilities, especially foreign ownership of assets, and suggests a dual currency system. He stresses the need for US-China cooperation to benefit both in a multipolar world. Alex also critiques the Austrian School of Economics, pointing out flaws in its views on privatisation and public services, and discusses how tariffs might help restore American sovereignty and shape future global trade.

My own question - why would drug cartels support moving to a cashless world if their cash flow is all cash ? ( 8 million dollars per week in the US alone )

None of that cash could flow without the banks that launder it. But still, I can't imagine smart phone QR codes being adopted in the drugs and people trafficking domain.

Growing Your Own Food is a Winning Idea - Jim Gale
    Monday, 12th May 2025

    https://www.ukcolumn.org/video/growi...a-winning-idea

    Show notes
Jim Gale is a permaculture advocate and the founder of Food Forest Abundance, an organisation that promotes sustainable food systems.

Permaculture is a method of agriculture that works with nature by using diverse plants, animals, and natural processes to create self-sustaining ecosystems. Unlike monoculture farming — which involves growing a single crop and often damages soil and biodiversity through the use of chemicals — permaculture helps build healthy soil, supports wildlife, and reduces the need for artificial inputs. This approach is better for the environment and offers greater resilience for long-term food production.

UK Column - Jessica Hockett - The COVID Data in New York Was Faked
    Tuesday, 13th May 2025 - 1 hour 6 minutes

    Show notes

Jessica Hockett, an educator, shares how 2020 transformed her life. She questions the reported data on New York’s alleged mass casualty event, finding no evidence to support COVID-19 death claims. Scrutinising hospital practices and medical guidelines, she argues the ‘pandemic’ was a planned event orchestrated by various groups, and believes the vaccine rollout was a distraction from bigger issues, and criticises Donald Trump’s role, suggesting he was positioned to lead during the crisis. She views pandemics as social constructs.

UK Column - Why Is the Church of England Investing in Porn and Weapons?
    Monday, 19th May 2025

Jerm and Charles Malet discuss rapid societal changes, the Church of England’s historical role, and its internal conflicts with global Anglican communities. They explore the Church’s origins, doctrinal inconsistencies, and controversial investment policies—questioning its relevance and purpose today. The conversation delves into Christian values, the boundary between art and pornography, and the Church’s response to contemporary issues, urging grassroots action for ethical reform within congregations.

Charles wrote The Church of England: Ethically investing in pornography, weapons and embryonic stem cells for UK Column.

UK Column - Mike Robinson - Why Don’t People Like Solutions?
    59 minutes - May 20, 2025

    Show notes
What’s stopping real change? Mike Robinson joins Jerm to unpack why practical solutions are often ignored, exploring media spin, political fear, and the public’s role in shaping the future.

Mike Robinson shares his experience with UK Column, stressing the need for long-term dedication to solving societal problems and the impact of Covid-19 on public involvement. He advocates for personal responsibility and health, while criticising media sensationalism that overshadows practical solutions.

The discussion covers political complexities and perceptions of extremism, urging citizens to be more proactive. Mike and Jerm examine societal challenges, technology’s influence, and global leadership dynamics. They highlight grassroots solutions, the lab-leak narrative, and the deep state’s role.

The conversation also compares Chinese and Western cultures, explores technology’s effect on community and individualism, and considers humanity’s future possibilities.
