Default Films based on true events

Over the past couple of days, I have watched two films that are based on true events: "3096 Days" and "an American crime".
The second film was much harder for me than the first. I knew that people are different. That many are indifferent and that it is better not to trust anyone. But I was horrified by cruelty, by stupidity, cowardice, negligence and indifference of people to each other. It was really creepy to me to realize how much cruelty there is in people. And how much we do not know about them. Anyone can be a psycho, a murderer, a sadist, or a maniac.
And the worst thing for me is that they are unlikely to be held responsible for this.
    What will this responsibility give?
Will bring an innocent life back?
Ease the torment of someone who has suffered or someone who has lost a loved one?
    It's so ... so sad.
And I am terribly angry at the horrors of this world, because I feel powerless against it.

I had a similar feeling when in 1982 I saw Costa-Gavras' film Missing. It's about the US-backed coup in 1973 that overthrew the government in Chile of President Salvador Allende and installed a military junta.

The focus is the true story of a young American couple living in Chile and the husband is arrested after the coup, his father then arrives to find out what has happened to him. After running into many dead ends, they discover that he was executed without any trial.

I was very naive in the ways of the world back then and had never thought that a government would interfere in another country's affairs in such a way that could lead to so much suffering. It was an epiphany moment in what the world was like outside my comfortable, stable existence.

Along those lines, here's a song written and performed by one of my favorite poet singers. The late Blaze Foley, born Michael David Fuller in 1949. Died 1989.

    "Cold, Cold World"

The Killing Fields, one of my favorite Vietnam era films, based on a true story. Hard film yet beautiful

For more than 20 years the CIA studied psychic abilities for use in their top-secret spy program. With previously classified details about ESP now finally coming to light, there can be no more secrets.
The only place a perfect right angle ever CAN be, is the mind.

This really is a planet of sorrows.

Many of us feel this is not where we belong and some of us KNOW we came from somewhere else where Love is omnipresent. We have taken on a hard task to be here at this time to try and educate and be an exemplar of Love in action. We cannot change the world but we can be of assistance wherever there is need within the part of that world we have chosen to be in.

We knew at some level when we came here that the future of humanity would be in the hands of those who hold the Light of knowledge and the Christ Consciousness. It was never going to be easy to stand alone and speak your truth when all around are lies, deceit and abominable cruelty.

Having said that we create our own reality by our thoughts that manifest daily in our lives. What you think today will be tomorrow’s joy or sorrow. Do not buy into the fear porn we are offered on a daily basis but remember LOVE IS THE KEY and FORGIVENESS IS THE WAY.
