Although not a fan of Dr. Hawkins and his 2D scale, this is certainly a truth:

    'Quote of the Century..
The fact that many opinions are held by the great masses of people is hypnotic. Few minds can escape the appeal of the authority of mass agreement. People look without instead of within for guidance. As Freud said, the individual conscience is dissolved in the unconsciousness of the herd and mass action. Morality is silenced by mass hyseria. Few can resist the propaganda of the news media. Truth eventually surfaces, but it is usually belatedly.

    -Dr. David R. Hawkins MD PhD - Eye of I pg 241 - 242

Quote The masses have never thirsted after truth. They turn aside from evidence that is not to their taste, preferring to deify error, if error seduce them. Whoever can supply them with illusions is easily their master; whoever attempts to destroy their illusions is always their victim.
Source: The Crowd: A Study of the Popular Mind by Gustave Le Bon (1895)

    Unforeseen, suddenly, and without warning,
In the time it takes to snap your finger,
    The Great Unveiling will happen.
    The viewpoint shifts.
Imagination is no longer taken for reality.
It is apperceived that I is not me.
    Enlightenment has answered the question:
    'Who are you apart from
Me that presumes to seek Me?'

    From 1956
”To suffocate any revolt in advance, it must not be violent. Hitler's types of methods are outdated. Just create a collective conditioning so powerful that the very idea of revolt will no longer come to the minds of men.
The ideal would be to format individuals from birth by limiting their innate biological skills. Secondly, conditioning would be continued by drastically reducing education, to bring it back to a form of professional integration. An uncultured individual has only a limited horizon of thought and the more his thought is restricted to mediocre concerns, the less he can revolt. Access to knowledge must be made increasingly difficult and elitist. Let the divide be widened between the people and science, let the information intended for the general public be anesthetized with any subversive content.
Especially no philosophy. Again, persuasion must be used not direct violence: massively, through television, entertainment will always flatter the emotional or instinctive. We'll occupy the minds with what's futile and playful. It's good, in chattering and incessant music, to keep the mind from thinking. Sexuality will be the forefront of human interests. As a social tranquilizer, there's nothing better.
Generally, we will make sure to ban the seriousness of existence, deride everything of high value, maintain a constant apology of lightness, so that the euphoria of advertising becomes the standard of human happiness and the model of freedom. Conditioning will thus produce such integration itself, that the only fear - which must be maintained - will be that of being excluded from the system and thus of not having access to the conditions necessary for happiness.
The mass man, thus produced, should be treated as what he is: a calf, and he should be watched as a flock should be. Anything to sleep his lucidity is good socially, what would threaten to awaken him must be ridiculed, suffocated, fought. Any doctrine involving the system must first be designated as subversive and terrorist and those supporting it should then be treated as such. ′′
Günther Anders, ′′ The Obsolescence of Man ", 1956

"Between birth and the grave, where you are, is the world of time. The world of time, space, energy, and matter. And I think of it as a kind of a puzzle or challenge, if you can figure it out, you know, you're plucked off into some other dimension with new problems and new challenges. If you can't figure it out, you'll probably just turn back into a sunbeam at the end of the whole thing."

Funny how that changes. I believe I saw the original on a bathroom wall in Berkeley CA in the 1970s:
To be is to do: Frohm
To Do is to Be: Nietzsche
Do be do be do: Sinatra

My version is borrowed from a favourite film, a French production from the mid 80s.

The intellect uses an enormous amount of energy
Trying to reconcile the world's contradictions.
But the truth is that understanding is not required.
    The requirement is only for
    A cessation of misunderstanding.
You don't need this one to tell you
What is providing you with your experiences.
    Stop and look for yourself;
It's right in front of your nose.
The space between the instrument of perception and
The perceived is what is actually perceiving.
This is the realisation that the perceiver and
The stream of perceptions and cognitions are
    The same event, Perceiving.
You are that in which self-centred consciousness and
All its experiences arise and set.

Jump when they tell us that they wanna see jumping.

Say something that you know they might attack you for
Cause I'm sick of being treated like I have before.

    And these f****** are
Laughing their way to the bank
    Cashing the cheque
    Asking you to have compassion
    And have some respect.
For a leader so nervous in an obvious way

In their living room laughing like

There are maybe not so great quotes, but that's what I am just now 1:13 on one side of the night, on a round planet.

A good friend said yesterday: "This is not my world, nor my people, but that is true for some of us who do our best while we are here"

I read this today and it strikes me

"... and that whole time looms behind me like a dark and boiling ocean"

"My journey to escape hell is nothing special or unique."

"Rain it falls, rain it falls
    Pouring on me
And the rain it falls, rain it falls
Sowing the seeds of love and hope, love and hope
We don't have to stay here, stuck in the weeds "
"World, you're not alone in all this
You're not alone I promise. Standing together we can do anything. I want to leave you better
I want my life to matter "
And all this to be just human.
