Based on the exchanges available on http://projectavalon.net/forum/showthread.php?t=13868, my spouse and I would be pleased to accept your invitation for the land tour. I am very enthusiastic to the idea that a radiant zone community could emerge in the Montreal (Quebec) area.

CosmicJobFocus, GaiaLove, glad you can make it. Hope the weather will be good.
GaiaLove, as far as where we can meet, we can meet with the people in Montreal for the ones that are close together aor may be not too familiar with the Laurentians. I live in Ville St. Laurent. near Cote Vertu shopping center; we can meet in front of Canadian Tire. We can take the highway 13 to highway 15.
For other people that are familiar with Laurentians, I can meet them in St. Agathe, exit 86, at the Provigo shopping center (take exit, turn right after exit on main road in Ste. Agathe, you will see the Provigo on the left side.
Tentatively, we can meet at 10:00 am in Montreal, and 11:00am in Ste. Agathe.
Please let me know on this thread or post any comments or suggestions on this issue. I wil provide google maps later and my mobile number.

I'm getting some feedback. Some people can't may it for the Saturday, but can may it for Sunday, so the first preference is Sunday if the weather is good, and I can meet people at the Cote Vertu Metro if they need a lift (instead of the Cote Vertu shopping center). I 'll park at the McDonald next to the metro.
Let me know if anyone has further comments.

Agreed, I am in my mid forties but my 3 kids 18-21 are of like mind and awake. They will be very interested in this. My wife too plans to attend future meetings however this first one will likely see me driving up alone to meet you wonderful new people. Every one's busy next weekend but me :) (a rare occurrence but a timely one this time)
Northern Sanctuary: I sadly missed your presentation at the Oratory and am jumping on the bandwagon regardless of fully knowing the details of what to expect. It wont affect my intention of being there but I would like to know more please. :wink2:
PS. So far Environment Canada is predicting 19°C and Sunny for the 24th :thumb_yello:

NorthernSantuary:
I'm ready to be part of the trip to the Laurentians planned for this Sunday.
I'm not too familiar with Ste. Agathe and so I'd be interested in meeting up at 10:00 am at the Cote Vertu shopping centre in front of Canadian Tire. Is there only one entrance to the Canadian Tire store?
As a newcomer, I am also anxious to hear more about your community vision at the meeting!
To ALL:
It's great to see the interest expressed by those of you in the Montreal area. I do look forward to meeting all of you!
:original: To an abundant, joyful and prosperous adventure for us all!

Hi GaiaLove,
Glad your wife can make it. I think she will enjoy the scenery.
As far as where to meet, whichever is more convenient for you. I often stop in Ste. Agathe at Provigo to buy some supplies before I go to my place, so it is on the way for me. Let me know.
So far, there is 3 people (Cosmic Dancer, Julius, and Paul) for me to meet at McDonalds next to the Cote Vertu metro. Anyone else that wants to meet me there, let me know so that I'll wait for you. My mobile is 514-261-1727 in case you need to call.
Provigo is at the corner of Principale and Rue Leonard. you can goggle map "Rue Leonard Ste Agathe" (I don't know how to save it).

Northern Sanctuary, Thank you again for the tour. It was a beautiful day despite the black fly population :mfr_lol:
I did stop on the way out and go for a short walk to get a "feel" of the area and to find out what would be the most important first step in achieving a harmony with the land. Much of the Laurentiens have been raped by developers and mining companies over the last hundred or so years and in many places I have been to the land has a negative feel. Although much of your terrain is pristine there are pockets of negativity that can be cured. The black fly problem would be eased as well. For our next gathering may I suggest a clean up of the land, particularly where it has been disturbed by human action. there are many trees and shrubs that have been cut down and left to rot, this is a significant issue. Imagine trying to exist in a area where there are corpses lying around. You would survive but how would you feel? With the group we had yesterday we could probably accomplish this over a weekend culminating in a massive bonfire once its all picked up. :thumb_yello:
I guarantee you will feel the land smile. and in return it will provide for your needs with clean water and fertile soil.
Any developments in the future should be done with the land's well being in mind. Cut only what needs to be cut. Either reuse the wood or burn it but nothing should be left to rot in the open air.
As I mentioned yesterday. I have experience in many areas and will happily help build this community. just say when :thumb_yello:
By the way, there is a large lake about 800m due east of your house. is that on your land as well?
Topographical map of the area is posted here (http://2012info.ca/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=6)

Hi GaiaLove,
Now that you mentioned it, there is tree debris in some areas from previous cuttings. Maybe July is a good time, when the fly problem goes away (the raspberry season is towards the end of July).
There is a big lake, I believe over the mountain. It's outside my land, but I think I get a stream connected to it.
We can talk some more at the next meeting.

Hi All,
Thanks NorthernSantuary for this wonderful visit of the land. What a beautiful day we have. It was very good to see the land, so now it is easier to visualize the community center and see myself being part of it and contributing to the community.
This could rely become a spiritual energy magnet center.
Also congratulation on your Restaurant's choice, it was very good and it was a good place for all the people to know each others better.
Looking for the next meeting.

You have to scroll right to see the tree.., but maybe the area below the UFO cloud is better:original:
Here's some info on black fly control that I found interesting considering that they were such a nuisance:
Natural Black Fly Control
Partial damming of small streams and creeks is a somewhat new technique for getting rid of black flies. Black fly larvae require moving water to survive. Stopping the flow of water with a temporary dam will deprive many black fly larvae of a suitable habitat and prevent them from maturing into adult black flies. Timing here is critical, and it should be done about two weeks before the black fly population usually reaches its peak. Talk to your local conservation office to find out if it’s legal for you to dam the stream/creek in question, and ask them when the black fly population is highest in your area.
You might also get rid of black flies by clearing brush and debris from a nearby stream. Black fly larvae not only require moving water, but they also require objects in the water to attach themselves to. They do this so that they can filter nutrients from the water that passes by. If you couple a temporary dam with debris removal, you may end up sparing yourself an arduous summer of tucking in socks and spraying yourselves down with bug spray in the mornings and afternoons. However, this technique can also be an effective stand-alone population reducer. Timing is less of an issue if you’re considering trying this black fly control strategy.
