Long-time friend and advisor to PM also lobbied for cancer drug plan in budget
- The Ottawa Citizen reported in February that Boessenkool registered to lobby the federal government on immunization policy on behalf of Merck Frosst Canada.

- Previously, Ken established an Alberta-based consulting practice, providing strategic, regulatory, tax and other economic policy advice to government, non-profit and private sector clients. Prior to that, he was Senior Economist in the regulatory departments at TransAlta and Aquila Canada, two large Calgary-based electricity companies. Ken also served as a policy advisor to two Finance Ministers in Alberta.
