I guess we have to get started somewhere....
I'll start posting any info which might be valuable for our area as well as discussin local conditions right here.
Did anyone see that West Fraser bought Stuart Lake Lumber in Fort St. James?

Hello everyone....it's great to see there are some awakened people in this area, I'm sure there are a lot more that are not aware of this forum yet....many also probably do not have internet access due to living very basicaly.....off the land so to speak and keeping spending to a very minimum.
I feel that now is the time for people to get together in groups and start or
join likeminded soul groups.....I'm sure there are also established groups out here that could use a helping hand.
I will start another thread where people can list their skills so that established groups could possibly get the help/skills that they may be looking for help with.

Does anyone know of the best places online where land could be found/purchased for reasonable prices or have any other idea's of getting possible land for a sustainable community ?
Please post any links you might have.
A couple of idea's came to mind ....although not quite sure where look.
Recreational lease?
Mineral claim?
For sale by owner/rent to own?

Hello British Columbians!! I'm on Vancouver Island and feeling its time to get off the Island although if Michael St. Clair is right there is still a couple of years before all !!?! breaks loose. Think he mentioned approx. August/2010.
I count 7 of us (including myself) so far so lets keep it rolling...will share useful ideas and resources as they come up.

Hey fellow BC ers'! We have a Vancouver Island thread started y'all should check ... I've always felt torn between the Interior of BC and the Island ... wondering where I would go if I ever 'settled down'! And of course on the horizon of my mind was always the imminent changes .... now more and more I am drawn to the heart of the province ... good to know you're all out there! Cheers

Hi,
This is how we did it. A friend of mine has property on Hornby Island and I bought in the area of Burns Lake. We both made a promise to help each other move to the safest of the 2 places if and when the need arises. I have grown up kids who can help with all sorts of things. They are doing their own things now, but in times of trouble each one has specific duties to perform, helping my friends get to safety zones and take care of their security etc.
Cheers

Hi Paktika, I lived on Hornby for 12 years...probly know your friend. So that's great, the world gets smaller. Sounds like a smart plan you've got cooked up. I think we should all watch for land going into receivership, mineral claims, etc. Together we can do alot. a bientot
