Any other folks from Vancouver Island around? Or even any of the smaller Islands near by?

I'm in the Comox Valley myself.

Hello. :welcomeani:

Great to see some islanders about.

Is anyone involved in any groups or get togethers in your area? I haven't found much for the Island myself aside from the Victoria 911 truth movement. as such I'm not involved in any myself, I would like to make a trip down to Victoria to check out one of the weekly get togethers for the vic911 thing they have. I would be curious to see how many people are involved locally.

Best wishes!:thumb_yello:

I will probably stay here unless we get some imminent warning of some sort.

I hear lots of talk about the water rising these last few years but I haven't seen it, and I live as close to the water as possible.

The water levels have actually lowered. The government and people on a small south sea island, I don’t recall the name right now but they were concerned their island would lose a lot of land with global warming, the ice on the poles melting, they were considering leaving the island if too much land was lost but the opposite has happened. The island has grown, reclaimed more land from the sea because the ocean levels have dropped. Global warming is a bogus scare tactic. Yes, it is important to keep your part of the Earth clean and to conserve resources but if you research the global changes and why they are happening, it is not a bad thing.

Hi You All!!...I'm glad to see that there are more than a few Vancouver Islanders and British Columbians on this Forum.
I hear that Southern British Columbia is not one of the best places to be however not everyone can pull up stakes...
I'd like to hear more about sustainable communities on the Island or in the rest of B.C.
Ciao for now.

I think there are several things one can start to do to be prepared without attracting attention.
There is some advice I would heed:
Isaiah 26:20
RSV with Apocrypha
Come, my people, enter your chambers,
and shut your doors behind you;
hide yourselves for a little while
until the wrath is past.

I use to worry heavily about where we are gonna go come the time. I was all panicked about maybe moving to south america or some other place off the beaten track.
I then started trying to align myself with source and since then my life has taken an extremely positive turn. I no longer worry about anything and know that we are spirited beings that are immortal.
I have decided to stick with Vancouver Island for the time being.

Hi Gale;
An island in the Pacific that fits your description is Kwajalein Atol, max elevation all of 30 feet, the average high tide is 6 feet, add a little storm surge and the little island is just about underwater. 8 deg 42 min N, 167 d 42 M E in the Marshall Islands group.
An island like this is the perfect place to measure Sea Level, at every high tide, just drop a big rock next to the max waterline along the main road, if the rocks are getting closer over a year, the sea level is rising, if the rocks get farther away, the sea level is falling

Hi Guys,

This is Deja Vue for me. I'm 58 - I fled York University / Ontario in 1975, expecting "The Crunch". ( a life time of waiting :mad3:)

I'm on 10 acres , a small mixed hobby farm. But I am not self sufficient.

Given the information we are getting now for the "Ground Crew", we are facing either "Earth Changes" or "man made catastrophe" - or both. I don't believe there is any way to vector a safe way through.

Buckminster Fuller predicted Utopia or Oblivion for us. All an idividual can do is one's best - remember, you only die once per lifetime :thumb_yello:

Hi fourfingers
I think the third choice would be closer to the truth.
But you must be situated in a good place, just need to be stocked up and hunker down for a bit.

Hello merkabagirl and tyrill
:welcomeani:

Hi Gale ... I was without power for 2 hours at Lake Cowichan ... very unusual, 200,000 homes without hydro right during the cooking of Thanksgiving turkey! Apparantly they don't know the cause and yet they seemed to be able to repair it rather quickly?! Where are you Gale?

Hi merkabagirl,
I am in Sooke. My one daughter was going to a friends for thanksgiving so I didn't cook the turkey until Monday.
We were without power for about 2 hours also, but my newly purchased inverter powered my modem for Internet and the radio to listen to the Emergency Net. I have been getting ready the last month or so for just such an occasion.
My preparations have not been much but with communications, good flashlights and knowing where to get things when needed, I feel I have prepared more than most when I look around me.

Hi gatestar,
There is a get together for the Pacific NW listed under the United States, is that a different thingie?
