This 'second' Iranian uranium enrichment facility news is conveniently timed, seems to blow focus off Gaza. Kissinger's wiki bio back to the Holocaust, Iran PM disputing Holocaust #'s, here we go again. Anyway, this is about January 2009.
From Amnesty International - Alarmingly, we understand that the UK Government (a member of the council) is not planning to support key recommendations, which Amnesty believe offer the best chance of ensuring justice and accountability, as a well as a deterrent to future conflicts. Instead, they appear to be taking a lead from the US Government in dismissing the findings. During the 22-day conflict from 27 December 2008 to 18 January 2009, some 1,400 Palestinians and nine Israelis were killed. Most of the Palestinians killed by Israeli forces were unarmed civilians, including some 300 children. Indiscriminate Palestinian rocket attacks killed three Israeli civilians and six soldiers. There can be no long-term peace and security in the Middle East without an end to impunity - please email David Miliband today and urge him to support the Goldstone Report. http://www.amnesty.org.uk/actions_de...p?ActionID=631 Goldstone Report (pdf575pp) http://backspin.typepad.com/backspin...ts-online.html Jul 27, 2009 0:06 | Updated Jul 27, 2009 0:09 Israel prepares for Goldstone report More than a month before Judge Richard Goldstone is expected to present the findings of his UN Human Rights Council mission investigating alleged Israeli war crimes during Operation Cast Lead, Israel - taking a more proactive stance toward the super-critical reports of various NGOs and international bodies - has set up an interministerial committee to deal with the findings in detail, The Jerusalem Post has learned. http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satelli...cle%2FShowFull PM to Concentrate on Iranian Nuclear Threat Sep 24, 2009 19:54 | Updated Sep 25, 2009 21:27 Netanyahu rips UN for Ahmadinejad 'disgrace' Netanyahu opened his General Assembly address - which dealt more with Ahmadinejad and the UN Human Rights Council's Goldstone Report accusing Israel of war crimes than with the diplomatic process with the Palestinians - by saying that the UN had been "founded after the carnage of World War II precisely to prevent a recurrence of such events." http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satelli...cle%2FShowFull Iran's second uranium enrichment facility 'changes every equation' http://www.csmonitor.com/2009/0925/p99s01-duts.html Red Cross Red Crescent - Field Operations (Palestine), News http://www.ifrc.org/where/country/cn6.asp?countryid=205 ![]() Red Cross says Israel broke law in Gaza GENEVA, SWITZERLAND Jan 08 2009 17:35 http://www.mg.co.za/article/2009-01-...ke-law-in-gaza Gaza doctors struggle to treat deadly burns consistent with white phosphorus Dozens dying after Israeli attacks from injuries 'unlike any seen before' that medics say should not be fatal http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009...sphorus-israel |
