The church however uses the sending out of these "volunteer ministers" to help out in disaster areas as a marketing ploy. that's why the bright yellow jackets and T shirts. They are out looking for customers, and some good publicity.

But the individual volunteers and the assists they provide are a good service and help relieve the trauma, up to a point.

Being familiar with these materials too I concur to this.
The touch assist itself is a wonderfull tool .
I have received and given it myself on several occasions in the past and can only attest to it's beneficial effect.
I also agree to the statement that these " volunteer " ministers would be sent out in disaster areas by the Church of Scientology as a marketing ploy.
I hope though that if some are in Haiti now and using these assists they do it from their heart independant from the movement they belong to .
