. Kris and others, Probably not a good idea to put all of your eggs (money) into one basket. Soi some silver and gold is okay and also items to trade look around the Net there are lists by people who have been in bad situations and know what trades. Also do not forget your best asset your own health and friends and family. Your own mind and thoughts are more valueable than a piece of paper called money. Invest some time learning to use your thoughts. The following link will provide an example of a person who is doing this and what can happen as a result (see first post in the thread) http://projectavalon.net/forum/showthread.php?t=742 . . |

a friend of mine is in the final stages of getting a gold mine reopened out in Colorado, last summer when I visited he took me up there so I could take a look at the mine.
we came to an intersection and suddenly I was drawn down the narrow path, I stopped and looked at the wall beside me and a large hunk of gold was glistening in the light. I'm afraid its the only gold I have right now, but thought it was curiouos that I was attracted right to the point of finding it. has anyone else experienced this? |

Kris;
You can get a Canadian bank account, you don't have to live here, and the insurance on deposits is technically better, that and you can do your banking online from home. You can have the account in Canadian $ or US $. With Fannie and Freddie gone, the FDIC is the next domino M |

what do you do if the government outlaws possession of gold or silver? or,where do you keep it? or,how do you transport it? $50,000 of silver dollars is more than 100 bags which are very heavy. maybe this conceipt needs to be re-thought.

Why bury your precious metals in a lead lined box? Something to do with the feds outlawing gold and silver ownership in the future, so they can't find it?

When you don't have any food or electricity you will see just how valuable that yummy gold and silver is.
If you really want to invest in precious metal buy NdB high power magnets and copper or stainless steel wire. With these you can make high efficiency electrical generators so you will have electricity even if you have to pedal for it. If you have electricity you can boil/distill water. Invest in guns and bullets. (Those are precious metal) Invest in bulk food and seeds. Buy some warm winter clothes. It gets cold when you don't have central heating. Buy some books that explain how to do basic things relevant to survival. Or find some people who are more prepared then you and see if you can partner with them and let them decide what to spend the money on. |

Don't forget Swiss government bonds folks. Not much yield but safe and reliable to hold savings.

I would like to share some resources I have used to stock up on food and water supplies.
I use thereadystore.com for much of my supplies. I have used bulliondirect.com for gold and silver. You all need to be able to heat the home in winter if necessay. I have also been looking at portable solar cell systems that run all types of portable electronic devices. This would provide some small level of electic capacity since I no not own a generator. Also Keep about 3 weeks of gasoline on hand as Hurricane Ike has demonstrated. Let's keep the ideas comming!! |

Thanks bluestix for your reply. Good info there for everyone. Important to invest in heirloom seeds so to harvest the seeds again and again. We're presently shacking up with our grandparents who have been teaching us canning and gardening. Plus not to mention the stories they can tell us about living without all the stuff we do today. It's been good to connect with them. I knew the day would come when I'd be taking care of grandparents and parents, and I'm honored to be there for them. Keep the info coming. Thanks for the response to this thread. It's definitly giving me some understanding and direction. Peace
To Occum's Butter Knife, good post. Good info. Last edited by Kris Riley; 09-15-2008 at 01:11 AM. |

Ok troopgear, why would one want to buy 1oz bars instead of coins? Another thing. You are sounding hostile. Is it because people are trying the best they can to share what they know? I think if you have an expert knowledge, then it is greatly appreciated. You should start a thread and give some advise. That is what a lot of good people here are looking for right now and if you could share and be patient with us who know very little about this process, that would be swell.

Hi to all, and I appreciate the input from everyone participating in this thread. But I have perhaps a very idealistic intuition about this whole precious metals/save my worth scenario concerning the impending collapse of the American dollar. When yet another bank collapses and the stock market continues to crumble, isnt that one step closer for all of us to freedom? Isnt the love of money and the mediumship is provides to aqcuire power the reason we are in this mess to begin with? The Federal Reserve is a fraud, our debt based society is set up to keep us enslaved. So I submit to you all (and this has been stated earlier in this thread), be more concerned about your relationships with the people you love, get as prepared as your current financial situation will allow and continue to put out as much positivity into the universe as possible. It seems to me that the majority of us agree that the even though we may have the Amero for a short while, that market will crash as well and then we are on to the RFID chip. So what is your gold/silver/platinum/palladium worth then? It is my humble opinion that we welcome the crash of our economy and find the goodness in it. I'm done with the rat race we have all been programmed to believe in. You know, the one where how much money you have dictates your class in society, how many "friends" you have, whether or not you get floor seats to a Lakers game, and quality of health care/education you and your family gets. Pardon my explicit passion but, **** THAT!
I realize this may rub people the wrong way and you may think that I am living in the clouds, but like Alex Colliers Andromedan friends asked him: "Why do you have to pay to live on a planet you were born?" Think about it... ************************************************** *** This post has been moderated because inappropriate language has been used. ************************************************** *** Last edited by QtesUKStoke; 09-16-2008 at 07:27 AM. Top Gear. What are your thoughts about the different options that a person has if they currently have an IRA invested completley in Gold coins that are being stored by a financial institution? The person could take delivery on the coins, but pay a big penalty for early withdrawal. The person could leave the IRA alone, hoping that the financial system won't really collapse or that they would still be able to get delivery on the coins once it became completely obvious that things were collapsing. Do you know of any other options? What do think the odds are that the economy will start to collapse very soon and that the government finances will even collapse next year? What do you think of what is being said in the following link?:

Hi, I'm interested in any advice you have about what to do with IRA/401K investments in dollars in funds and bonds held in accounts run by fund or insurance companies (think Fidelity, Oppenheimer, Ameriprise) rather than conventional banks. Also, can you elaborate on the basis of your experience? I'm very curious; sounds lengthy. In the black hole of decent financial advice from conventional sources, I'm tempted to take advice from strangers. Tell me why I should from you.

I researched the information and found no credence to what is said was discussed at that meeting. Everyone broadcasting this is quoting an australian newspaper "Australia.TO" on the web. They did have an article about the secret session on March 25, however they state in the article that (they previously stated the term conspiracy theorists are speculating as to what was actually discussed) "theorists state that ....... (each point that was brought up)" In other words this newspaper made a statement about what some un-named conspiracy theorist said was talked about. Every one else then picks up on it and says that it was reported in the Australian newspaper and there you have it.....just BS. There were no names, no sources, no names of any congressmen that came forward and before you know it, this is passed around as truth. This is why I started looking in project camelot because they do remarkable research and not the same old crap that you find elsewhere. As a CPA and a securities broker, I will be more than happy to give others my viewpoints on the economy by emailing me at tomjeffers@verizon.net. Namaste |

You must be kidding. Why would you be in the Forex market? This is still paper. Like we have been saying if you don't hold it you don't own it. You are still assuming that fiat currency is the way to go. And how are you going to pull your money out of your Forex account if their is a lockup in the system? You're still thinking it is going to be business as usual. I'll tell you what you keep playing in the casino and I'll use my money to protect my friends and family and take responsibility for my money and not trust it with a brokerage account or bank. Being that they have been soooooo good with our money. |

I am sorry but I disagree with silver and gold bars.
i think old american coins from pre 1964 are the safest bet. there are a lot of fraudulent gold and silver bars and as price escalates, there will be more that pop up. people are familiar with our silver coins and there are no fakes on the market in any significant numbers. people will trust them plus they are still valid currency in the us. FYI I am a cpa, a securities dealer and a futures trader myself. I trade in gold, silver, currencies, and oil. Namaste' |
