What an interesting story giovonni. Is obvious the historians only recorded their point of view, not the true story. It was more often than not his-story, and usually dismissive of the role of women. Have you read the book "Pope Joan"? Its a fascinating account of a woman pope, complete with evidence to back up the story! It is written as a fiction, but the basic facts are true.

Yes Carmen, it is quite likely, Pope Joan's legendary story> has truth within it. The patriarchial heads of the church> then and now, most likely would (and) have tried> to surpress any evidence and proof. Thats why few scholars, will seriously consider or touch upon the story or legend.
