Illumination & Starlah.....I thought I was the only one that was not getting any comments on my posts....was beginning to think that I should give up and move on from here.

Anyway.......all of these pics are breathtakingly amazing and Peace & love yours are like a beautiful painting.....I first thought they were Northern Lights.

Illumination, yours have a threatening, ominous and mysterious quality to them.

Sort of a "beauty & the beast" theme comes to mind

Thanks for posting them.

Hi waiting in the wings,

Beautiful avatar!

That drink is making me thirsty...yum, think I'll have some grape juice.

Illumination, did you see the pictures of a 'Derecho' (straight line tornado, since you brought up tornados) and its ominous clouds?

Here is the full video of the referenced storm... http://www.spc.noaa.gov/misc/AbtDere...1/oklagust.wmv

PaL

P. S. Stariah and Judykott, blessings to you too!

Hello peaceandlove,

I had not seen that thread about derechos but I lived through a couple of those this spring! Last year I first started hearing about "gravity waves" which I had never ever heard of.

This spring the meteorologists started using the odd derecho word. I recall watching one long-lived event which started in Texas - the radar looked like a huge bullet was punching the isobars due east and huge storms bowed out ahead of it with 100 mph winds. This system stayed intact and travelled hundreds of miles across the southeastern US to the ocean.

All I could think of was "Don't fool with Mother Nature."

Hello no caste,

That's exactly it...hard to know which are natural Earth events and which are manufactured. Some days when I witness these Earth changes I get really depressed and scared - we are so screwed. Then I remember that fear does not solve anything. So, I try to admire these new climatic changes (yes, they are perversely beautiful like tornadoes and hurricanes) while keeping myself informed about these unprecedented storms.

Stay safe, all.
