The shape shifting thingy actually has an easy explanation, so I wouldn't worry about credulity, credibility or whatever.

In group setttings, it may be amplified (when the group is equally retarded - on the same 'wavelength' as you describe) (as I guess it would be if there were access to fields other than earth's natural ones). The article I posted also says, "Light and radio waves are other forms of electromagnetic energy. Various colors in the light spectrum cause distinct reactions in people." A person could be more scientific about it, but I don't think it matters right now.
