Hmm. I did not k ow there needed to be anyone inthe board saying yes for me to lost the say no to pedophila picture.

Unfortnately there are people in the world who say yes to it.

Maybe we can round those types and others up and use them for live target practice? Naw. That would be unlawful and cruel and unusual punishment.

Let's play devil's advocate here and entertain the possibility that Mr.Polanski is involved in a secret society (I don't know if he's a Freemason or anything but let's just say hypothetically) and because he angered those more powerful than he is, that he not only lost his wife, but he committed an act that destroyed a young woman's life. Out of fear, he fled.

Could we then entertain the possiblity that Mr.Polanski was set-up by forces beyond his control?

The question is, do we ignore the implications behind the events that led to Mr.Polanski fleeing the country or do we simply punish him for a crime that is likely past its' statute of limitations?

I don't think Polanski is a secret society guy - I think he liked young girls back in 1979. The woman, as Burgundia says, doesn't claim her life was 'destroyed.' Yeah. I'm wondering about a set-up (by secret society), to take the heat off revelations.

Agreed. Still. Polanski lost his family in the Holocaust. His wife was brutally slain, while pregnant. Is he messed up? Who wouldn't be. It's like he's looking for a 'fresh start' with young girls, to clear his mind. It doesn't work that way, true. Society operates too much on the premise of vigilante justice. Everyone wants to murder child molesters or sex offenders.

As a brother of a reformed (and still reforming) sex offender, it is my duty to rise above that and to understand and accept that people can change. It can't happen if you are not there to offer support. It cannot happen when society is fixated on 15th century justice.

In a new paradigm, the rules become obsolete or at the most, they change. There's a greater force at work that keeps us all down, regardless of what we do.

I have heard so many stories about parishes complaining, the Church moving the priests along to another unsuspecting parish, like a large traveling circus. Then it happens again. I'm not sure why the Church itself isn't charged with harboring criminals and whatnot.

The timing is suspect. It's easier to focus on a splashy one-off, like Polanski.

they could have got him hundreds of times before...if they really wanted...he was making movies and travelling to many places...and now , suddenly in switzerland....something is going on behind the scenes....

Perhaps instead of targeting and harming others, we need to look at the behavior itself and figure out where it starts. Sometimes, the molested become molesters. It's a cyclical pattern of behavior that has to be stopped at the start.
