Does anyone use a pendulum to access higher knowledge?

i have used the pendulum for many years. i usually use it to locate lost articles. the most astounding of which was a lost phone number, written on a tiny scrap of paper..
i usually ask the pendulum to point me in the right direction, by swinging in the direction of the item in question. i will do this from two or more different places to triangulate on the general location. in this instance, i had the location narrowed down to my dresser. now, it has three drawers, all of them full and containing many small articles. i asked the pendulum "is xx's phone number in the top drawer of my dresser?" answer - no. "is it in the middle drawer?" answer - no. "is it in the bottom drawer?" answer - yes. "is it in the right side of the drawer?" answer - no. "is it in the left side of the drawer?" answer - yes.
sure enough, i open the drawer, go to the left side, pick up a few large obstructing objects and spot the number, on a tiny folded piece of paper. i had not seen the number in a couple of years.
could i have subconsciously known where it was and unknowingly influenced the sway of the pendulum? it's possible.. but i like to think that it was acting independent of my influence and providing accurate responses to pointed queries.
just an experience i felt like sharing.
