i think this movie had a big impact on me because the night after i watched it, i was one of pandora's people and i was in so much peace, awe, wonder, joy, and love. I was flying on those same creatures and I felt in love with pandora in my dream. it felt so real. the I woke up and i felt so sad. I wanted to go back there.
So i guess the feelings are inside of me. The movie just made me reflect on those there. it was paradise. |

this movie isnt going to make me worship the planet or join any world religion. it shows a story thats as old as civilization destroying indingenous balanced people. a native american might of well told this story over a campfire, its no different. and what would alex have us do? ignore the environmental problems? im tired of all this bs mother goddes/gai ooooooo scary new world religion and tying anything ecological to paganism and being under the theumb of the PTB. gimme a break. if you want to see what a fear monger is google alex on the eve of 2000, he was drumming up the end of the world...ridiculous. -clark http://superstrangeland.blogspot.com/ |

I haven't watched the movie but I used to watch the cartoon. I never found it really culty or anything.
As to 3D. When i was 5 years old I lost most of the sight in my right eye. i recall seeing a 3D TV show where mom brought us kids the funky glasses back in the 70's. needless to say, they didn't work for me. I'm immune to 3D effects completely. No depth perception. if you are concerned about 3D effects simply remove the glasses. It's looks like a regular old movie. I was gonna wait for the movie to come out on DVD and rent it. No use buying a movie ticket and glasses if it won't be #d for me after all. |

I'm tired of people calling ancient ways of living new world, there's nothing new about it, regardless of whatever stereotypes and images of people it's associated with or those who've been using it under a political banner. I'm tired if people thinking ecology is something 'hippy' or 'pc' or tied to paganism, everybody should acknowledge and respect the world around them and those they live with. Yes respecting the environment, knowing your botany, knowing your herbology, knowing your natural medicine, the types of land, basic chemistry and study of weather systems comes into pagan teaching and understanding that we're all part of our environment; it's a good thing. It, like many associated ways of living such as certain health and exercise principles have been used to put off others like the 'hippy' and 'pc' label. There is a link but it doesn't mean the study relates to them exclusively. For the record, I don't like Alex Jones either, he's very able at spinning news. Avatar showed people, regardless of species, acting as they have and still do. Last edited by She-Ra; 01-12-2010 at 11:44 PM. |

Alex is mentioning that the film is being used as propaganda for a new world religion. In order for world government to happen, they will need to create a new religion which I'm calling neo-paganism. Christianity is a system based on perverted pagan rituals, which they are now switching back to something close to the original but also perverted in a different way. The difference is the new world religion or philosophy is based on the idea that us humans are bad because we consume CO2 and resources and we are destroying the planet, Mother Gaia because we are breathing and existing. Here's the twist: the propaganda is very powerful because it's based on something that's very real. The propaganda part is to impart memes that have a real story and real truth, but they attempt to twist this as a measure to accept global carbon taxes or some new religion. The spiritual part is also very real. We all come from the same life force and we are all tied to the earth through our energy fields. The biggest problem here is when you start to apply the labels: Christian, hippy, pagan, etc. It may be necessary to use words to have a conversation, but the words themselves are nothing but a distortion. --sjkted |

I've seen the movie yesterday and I don't remember nothing in it suggesting a new religion...
![]() In my opinion, this movie is like a game of the 7 differences. Look at Pandora, look at the earth... Then ask yourself: What's on Pandora that is not on Earth? What's on Earth that's not on Pandora? Very simple, isn't it? And quite depressing if you're not centered enough... In addition to this I felt very excited and amazed after watching the movie. And I still feel this way! Felt hangry with humans in the movie from the middle to the end but when it ended I have a wonderful feeling. On the other hand I don't think the purpose of the movie is awaken people anyway. I think it only pretended to be a sci-fi western. Have you noticed the similarities with native american people or I'm the only one? ![]() |

For me the film was a cross between Dances with Wolfs and Toy Story. Having said that I see others are taking deeper meanings from it.
Watch this 2 min YouTube link by a system theorist and educated man. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLw9MpAGkxg Please make a point of watching 1 or 2 of his films in the links on the right. |
