			Hi there people,

Firstly i'd like to apologise if i've posted in the wrong forum, this is my 1st time and i'm not sure if i've correctly attached the picture! ![]() I was out around 8am on a fishing trip, when i noticed a dark ring in the sky. All i had on me was my mobile phone so i took a couple of pictures. I've only posted 1 as the pictures are almost the same. Any ideas what could have caused this effect in the sky? |

bigit.I can see a ring in the clouds. There are loads of pictures like that on the net and there's a thread here on PA somewhere. I've had a quick look but can't find it as I can't remember the name of the thread. I'll look again when I get a bit of time. x Last edited by gita; 02-26-2010 at 06:24 PM. |

many thanks for giving me a few pointers. I've seen a few pictures of cloud formations but this seemed to be more in the sky than the clouds, just a shame i only had my phone on me. Thanks again, i'm off to check out the link you posted.

No need to resize. It's a profile album and only the thumb was posted.

Unfortunately i only had my mobile phone to hand hence the quality of the picture, it has an 8mp camera so i'll have to check but i think this is as good as it gets. Its a shame because the picture doesn't really show it how it looked. It looked alot bigger and you could see the full circle. I live just outside of East London and i'd have to say that the ring was over in the direction of the new Olympic Village they are building. Thanks for the help reposting and resizing guys.

Hi there.....I put your picture into Photobucket and played around

with it to try and bring the circle out more. This is it after using Auto Fix, putting the contrast and brightness up a bit...and giving it an orange/beige tint. ![]() Nice capture, by the way. I wonder if it has got anything to do with the Olympic Village being built? Could it be 'something' to block out satellite pictures? Security for the 2012 Olympics must be a nightmare for the organisers. Pure speculation. Also..there seems to be a definite blob/sphere on the 'circle' at the top. edit to say...LOL...I've made it look a bit of a mess now...I've only just seen metaw3's post and I took it from the enlargement that seeingterra did....
