Is everyone glossing over this news item? It was announced earlier in the morning, but few details came with the announcement.

Fed to buy massive amounts of short-term debt

The Treasury will provide money to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York to support the new program, the Fed said. Fed officials would not say how much but believed it would be substantial. The money would not come from the $700 billion financial bailout President Bush signed into law on Friday.

The Fed will buy debt? But the Fed makes our currency. Are they just gonna print up a bunch of money or give huge credits to the banks? WTF does that mean?

What's the difference between the Fed buying debt and the Fed pushing more money/credit into circulation? Currently our money is created through the Fed buying debt (US treasury bonds) to begin with.

Oh, and 1.3 TRILLION?!!! What is that going to do to the value of the dollar?

It appears that they will print a bunch of cash to pay for all of this. More than likely it will weaken the dollar and hyper inflate our economy.

So many people trying to give predictions about what is going to happen but nothing happens afterall...

So it's true, we do not have any real advantage over all the people who are still in the dark.
Because the problem is that whether you know about what is going on or whether you do not know anything and you are a sheep, you cannot change anything.
