Enough weel chairs; more food. More Protein!
No.2 on the list was protein. Here's some more info on the building blocks of muscle tissue. Soy ain't bad! it has nearly the same spectrum of bioavailable ammino acids as flesh, but, there is controversy over the effects of isoflavones and phytoestrogen see: http://www.westonaprice.org/soy/soy_controversy.html for examples Milk/ Dairy is an excellent sourse of protein, calcium, phosphorus which are in plenty and potassium, sodium, iodine in traces. It is a source of Vitamin A, B, D, E and K. For those of us who are lactose intollerant (which is very common.) Whey Protein Isolate (WPI,) available from health-food stores... is possibly the best protein source known... ask a bodybuilder! The isloation process removes lactose and if done correctly leaves the proteins in a more natural state than the pasteurisation process which normal whole or skim milk undergoes. WPI also can be stored in the cupboard for long periods of time, takes up little space - a 30g serving yielding approximately as much bioavailable protein as 120g of chichen breast or 200g of steak. 30g is all you need because its almost 100% protein and 100% digestible... THE #1 protein source for food hoarding! Quote me on that... In next weeks installment... More about Berries... They ain't just blue. Acai, Goji and Gumi... "where the Gumi Bears get their stength..." NAMASTE |
