Imran Khan coming back as president of Pakistan will be a significant loss for the West and a win for Russia. Pakistan sold Ukraine artillery shells.
Just a note here to reference this other important Avalon thread.
I just changed that thread title to update it with the development of his imprisonment, which is a dreadful and totally corrupt thing to have happened. But remarkably, despite all attempts (including many by the US) to repress and cancel them, his party has won the recent election.
So that means that unless there's more election interference from the US or other agencies, Imran's party's international policies will be continued, and that's the point of this tweet. Imran was targeted specifically because he was very much aligned with Russia and wanted Pakistan to remain geopolitically neutral.
Imran would indeed again be Prime Minister (he never was 'President') were he to be released from prison, which is possible but would entail a great deal of unrest, conflict and international controversy were that to occur. It's a fascinating situation, an important one to watch carefully, and just about anything at all could happen in Pakistan right now.

Syrsky’s command will see more ‘meat assaults’ driven by fanatical loyalty to Zelensky
Newly picked Ukrainian Armed Forces commander-in-chief Oleksandr Syrsky is “absolutely loyal to the current government. He is ready to continue the policy of ‘meat assaults’ and it is easier for him to do this, since his reputation allows for it,” Nikolai Kostikin, an expert from the Military-Political Analysis Bureau think tank, told Sputnik.
“Ukraine’s Armed Forces now have prospects for the continued mass slaughter of their personnel. And it is not Ukrainians who command Ukrainian troops. The policy of meat assaults will continue until the front collapses like dominos,” Kostikin said, adding that “so far, Syrsky has proven himself only as a ‘cauldron general’, responsible, in the minds of Ukrainian officers, for the defeat at Debaltsevo in 2015.”

Russian Strikes Hit Oil Depot, Ports In Ukrainian Rear Regions. Kiev Failed To Respond 10.02.2024
On the night of February 10, new wave of Russian strikes hit Ukrainian military and industrial facilities in the rear regions. In their turn, Ukrainian forces attempted another attack on the Crimean peninsula and Russian border regions.
An air alert has been declared throughout Ukraine since the evening of February 9, when Kiev reported that its “reconnaissance had noted the departure of the Russian MiG-31K carrier of hypersonic weapons from one of the Russian airfield .” However, the local sources later reported drone strikes in the southern regions of Ukraine.
A series of explosions thundered in the Mykolaiv and Odessa regions. At least three of them were reported in the port town of Ochakov, where warehouses with Ukrainian naval drones were reportedly destroyed. More Russian drones struck Ukrainian military facilities in the ports of Kilia and Izmail located on the Danube coast.
The Russian night attack was not limited by the southern regions. The border Kharkiv region came under another wave of strikes. A series of explosions thundered in the region. As a result of the drone strike, a large fire destroyed an oil depot in the city of Kharkiv. The local authorities attempted to assure their audience that the attack destroyed a civilian petrol station but footage from the city revealed their lie.
Other targets of the Russian attack last night included Ukrainian military facilities in the Sumy region and in the western areas of the Donetsk People’s Republic which are under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including the areas near the town of Pakrovsk which is struck on a regular basis.
In its turn, the Ukrainian military attempted to attack Russian rear regions with UAVs and naval drones.
According to the official reports by the Russian Ministry of Defense, over the past night, three Ukrainian UAVs were destroyed in the Bryansk region. According to the Russian MoD, on the evening of February 9, Kiev attempted a terrorist attack on civilian ships in the south-western waters of the Black Sea. Russian patrol boats deployed in the area repelled the attack, destroying one unmanned boat with artillery fire and intercepting several others with EW means.
Amid the ongoing attempts of the Ukrainian military to launch constant attacks in the Black Sea region, Russian daily precision strikes on the Ukrainian military facilities in the southern Odessa and Mykolaiv regions are likely to resume.

Doom Hung Over Kiev. Rats Fight For Handouts And Prepare To Jump Ship 09.02.2024
The tide of the Ukrainian conflict is making a not really unexpected, but still unfortunate turn for Kyiv and globalist forces that made a bet on it. The recent series of failures made the regime a lame duck in the eyes of its puppeteers and sponsors. This situation worsened because of the further increasing levels of corruption, incompetence and a strengthening internal struggle for power within the top Ukrainian leadership.
This is happening amid the looming threat of the painful defeat in Avdeevka. A large heavily fortified Ukrainian stronghold on the outskirts of Donetsk is balancing on the edge of collapse. The Russian troops gnaw through Ukrainian defenses on the streets, taking the Ukrainian grouping into a cauldron. Russian warplanes are grinding Ukrainian positions with dozens of heavy bombs dropped every night.
On the northern Donbass frontlines, Russian troops entered the village of Belogorovka. As a result of heavy battles, they took control of the industrial zone and continue further assaults. In the Southern Donetsk direction, the Ukrainian military lost control of the eastern part of Novomikhailovka.
At the same time, the Russian air defense forces are quite successfully fighting NATO-supplied drones and missiles. On the night of February 9 alone, 19 Ukrainian UAVs were intercepted in five Russian regions.
Together with the failure of the “summer counter-offensive” that cost Kyiv hundreds of NATO-supplied armored vehicles and more than 100,000 personnel, it becomes hard for Ukrainian public leaders to put a brave face on a sorry business. They prefer to blame whipping boys for the obvious failures and struggle against each other for the remains of what power that they have.
After weeks of speculation, Zelensky finally fired the Commander-in-Chief Zaluzhny, who was in charge for the “summer counter-offensive” and was hearlded by MSM all the previous year as the military leader that would allow Kyiv to capture Crimea. Thanks to this, Zaluzhny got a lot of media attention and political points, but lost a notable part of the remaining military potential under his command. Permanent NATO support and supplies helped to avoid a total collapse, but were not able to change the trend. Battlefield and diplomatic conditions have reached the point when even key Western sponsors are publicly slowing down the flow of military supplies and financial support.
Meanwhile, advocates of the Kyiv regime in Washington took a hard hit in its media war. Despite all the efforts of Western diplomats and MSM to put Moscow into an information blockade and ruin it with sanctions, today the whole world is listening to Putin. The White House called on Americans not to believe anything that the Russian President says in an interview with Tucker Carlson. Judging by the hysterical reaction of MSM and top Western officials, a single interview appeared to be enough to deliver a painful blow to Western propaganda. Attempts to create a fictional media reality around the ongoing developments put the construct of this reality at a disadvantage. In turn, seedlings of a new, honest and mutually-beneficial structure of international relations are pushing their way to life from the current crisis.

🇺🇦🇷🇺Without US help, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will face a “rapid collapse” at the front this year, - New York Times
▪️Although the Armed Forces of Ukraine have a new commander-in-chief, the problems remain the same. General Syrsky, having taken office, will soon again be faced with the grim calculations that accompany the 2-year war: “when the cost of protecting the territory outweighs any benefit obtained from harming the enemy.”
▪️Ukrainian troops are exhausted, they lack weapons and ammunition, and air defense systems are depleted and will only last until March, and US assistance is still in question.
▪️Western officials and military experts warn that without US help, a “rapid collapse” at the front awaits this year.
▪️In 2 months, the lack of help will affect on a large scale.
▪️“By next month, Ukraine may have difficulty conducting local counterattacks, and by early summer, the Armed Forces of Ukraine may face difficulties in repelling Russian attacks. However, [...] it will be difficult for Russia to quickly create sufficient capacity to carry out a major offensive in eastern Ukraine,” writes the NYT, citing an assessment by US officials.

Russian Forces Reach Railway Junction in Center of Avdeevka, Closing in on Last Supply Route of Ukrainian Forces
Russian forces have reached the railway junction in the center of Avdeevka, advancing to within just 700 meters of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' last supply route in the southern part of the city.
Military analyst Julian Röpcke from Bild has provided video footage showing drones attempting to halt the advancement of Russian fighters. Analysts have determined the distance from the road to the Russian positions based on their location.
"In these areas, there is not a single soldier of the Ukrainian Armed Forces who could resist those who are moving further west," writes Röpcke.
At the same time, Ukrainian military experts report that the threat of encirclement of Avdeevka is becoming increasingly real.

Oleg Kutkov, an engineer from Kiev, who deals with Starlink terminals for the Ukrainian military, said that also started a lot of complaints about the stability of communication and speed on the frontline.
"Indeed, the Russians have begun to actively use terminals on the frontline," says the engineer.
Terminals are actively purchased and resold by Russian resellers. The purchase goes through third countries, to the front people.
"It is unrealistic to track and cover these schemes, because our volunteers also vacuum terminals in all countries and pay with different cards," Oleg Kutkov says.
These terminals operate exclusively on the territory of Ukraine, including in the temporarily occupied parts of the front. The fact is that in a 20-km zone on the frontline, it is impossible to distinguish which side the terminal belongs to. This allows the Russian military on the frontline to also use Starlink terminals.
"Therefore, either everyone is working or no one is working," Oleg Kutkov said.

NATO Copies Russian Tactics in Wake of Ukraine's Disastrous Counteroffensive
The US and its allies sent tens of billions worth of advanced military hardware to Kiev in preparation for a massive counteroffensive that was supposed to break Russia’s will to fight. Five months later, the now ex-commander of Ukraine’s military admitted that the operation had failed and that there would be no “deep and beautiful breakthrough.”
Countries in NATO’s Eastern European flank have apparently been “taking notes” on Russia’s defensive strategy in the military operation zone after the blunting of Ukraine’s blood-soaked counteroffensive, showing interest in how the Russian military has revived the strategy of static defense into a key tool in modern warfare.
“Fortification measures have played a significant role in wars in our region in history,” Estonian defense official Susan Lillevali told The Economist amid efforts by the Baltic States and Poland to build “anti-mobility defensive installations” near their frontiers with Russia and Belarus. Tallinn has been ‘studying’ the NATO-Russia proxy war in Ukraine for tips, Estonian Defense League Lieutenant-Colonel Kaido Tiitus confirmed.
“Our main lesson is that we need to find a way to stop the advance of Russian armored units,” Tiitus said, without elaborating on why Russia would bother placing “armored units” into a NATO country and potentially triggering World War III, something President Putin said recently he has absolutely no interest in doing.

Birth of a myth: By replacing his top general, Zelensky has laid a trap for himself 12 Feb, 2024
Valery Zaluzhny’s political ambitions are boosted by Ukraine’s president, who just removed the commander from leading a doomed war
In his masterpiece, the pre-World War II ‘Le fil de l’épée,’ a young Charles de Gaulle observes that soldiers and politicians usually can’t get along well: They’re too different by temperament, socialization, and purpose. And yet the man who would brilliantly succeed at being both a military and a political leader also insisted that, ultimately, they must cooperate to serve their country. That cooperation is precisely what has just broken down in Ukraine, in the middle of a large war that is going very badly for Kiev.
For, make no mistake, while there are several important aspects (discussed below) to the drawn-out dismissal of Ukraine’s commander-in-chief, Valery Zaluzhny, the fundamental fact remains that it is a story of failure, the failure of a key relationship in any state, but especially one fighting a war it is losing.
Zaluzhny, it is important to note, was not a particularly bad commander-in-chief. It is true that Kiev’s war effort is failing but there is no good reason to blame him or, at least, him most of all. He is a mediocre strategist instead of the quiet genius that some silly Western hype used to depict. Yet, the causes of Ukraine’s current, quite-possibly fatal difficulties on the battlefield in logistics and manpower are fundamental, not a matter of one less-than-brilliant general. Remember: Once short on clients, soldiers, and supplies, even Napoleon (and Zaluzhny definitely is no Napoleon) was defeated: There are things in war, especially in a war of attrition, that crushingly outweigh individual talent.
Hence, the ouster of his commander-in-chief is precisely what President Vladimir Zelensky is trying to pretend it is not: a political operation, not a result of level-headed analysis of strategic necessity and a systematic reboot.
