This is a great article from the always excellent Globalresearch.ca on the beginnings of the Anglo-American alliance, the banking cartel, and the origins of WW1. It shows how the machinations of this alliance, including Cecil Rhodes, Lord Nathaniel Rothschild, and others, led purposely and directly to the beginning and continuation of WW1. worth the read.
