Question Re: "The Final ET Message to Earth" by Jon Rappoport

That's not the point (to me), i like to know where stuff comes from and if possible its intended purpose.
"Surety you crave! Sauron gives none. If you sue for his clemency then you must do his bidding."
    —Mouth of Sauron

This line has stuck in my head for a long time now. The power of it, the raw force. I think it illustrates an important point.

Folks will always say, "But...we were lied to!!".

Emerson says it this way, “Trust thyself: every heart vibrates to that iron string.
Nothing is at last sacred but the integrity of your own mind. A man should learn to detect and watch that gleam of light which flashes across his mind from within, more than the lustre of the firmament of bards and sages..."

Roland from The Gunslinger says it this way, "You have forgotten the face of your father."

    etc.

We have to be able to claim our own power, or we are victims.

    Peacefully,
What does this have to do with adding a posted descriptive and clear original link ?

Maybe nothing, except that I feel like folks like to spend a lot of time on the minutia and can't see the forest for the trees. I understand that making things clear, especially on the internet is important as Bill says, the waters are already muddied.

However, we can't go around crying foul at every turn.

At some point, (I'm sure you'll agree) and this is what I got from Rappoport's piece--we have to have our own discernment and stand on our own two feet.

I can understand your question, I was replying to an implicit thread in your comment and not the comment itself. My apologies.

In the end it all boils down to authenticity and style.
Rappoport has both. A good use of the element of surprise.

Shane has it, but in limited measure, but then he is a lot younger than Rappoprt, and still on the way to mastery.

I have a real problem, however, when it comes to imitation; especially when it is done with the purpose of self aggrandizement.
Still, each one of us will draw the line differently.
True talent usually has an electrifying effect.

I'd be 99.99% pretty sure this is fiction, written by Rappoport as an inspiring and thought-provoking message. (The style of the whole 'short story' is fictional, as one can see.) Rappoport has often written short fictional articles to make important points to his readers.
Oh yes. I am close to 100% sure this is:

    No ET speaking

This is such a tease. Using fiction as non-fiction should be frowned upon. One day when a true message is received (again) we'll just look like the boy who cried wolf...
    I totally agree ALLiTiZ;,

All Avalon forum poster's should make note - If your going to post such an "item" - Please add a descriptive -
And be upfront and fair not only to the reading members/guest - But also original author intent.
I think it is imperative to be able to play with all ideas without Nanny saying "Careful, children, you may cut yourself on the sharp ones." This is an excellent article with actual ideas that empower the discerning reader. Very little of anything we post or read here can be proven. It is the ideas that resonate which are important.
That's not the point (to me), i like to know where stuff comes from and if possible its intended purpose.
I get that. I guess I lean toward letting it stand as is and trusting my impression. Your way, you do get more concrete data. I did have the advantage of knowing the author takes artistic license, so have a different reaction to not knowing. But I still hold that we are surrounded my vast amounts of fabricated news and stories, and our task, as I see it, is take on the good ideas (whatever the source) and make them our reality.

A good idea would be to collectively as a group, create peace. A bad idea would be to sharpen the ego stroking to the point that whatever collective peace thinking that truly does exist right now, will fade away.

If we accept the premise that we are living in an illusion, it's all a Cosmic Joke - fact and fiction are two sides of the same coin. Here is something I wrote a few years ago about Truth:

    THE CYCLE OF TRUTH

    All Truth leads to Source.

    Everyone has their own Truth.

Everyone’s Truth is different (we are One, having 7 billion experiences).

Everyone has the right to share their Truth.

When you share your Truth, you are not responsible for someone else’s interpretation of it.

No-one is forced to accept someone else’s Truth.

You alone are responsible for any action you take in accordance with your Truth.

Nothing is ever a mistake, because everything leads to the Truth.

    All Truth leads to Source.

    You lost me with -

“There is no automatic equating of wealth with corruption, as you seem to accept.'

On this planet they go hand in hand.
Well, you might like to think about that some more.
Let me expand on this idea, because it is a major stumbling-block to clear thinking.

Some skilled jobs are just highly paid, no corruption and no scandal involved. Imagine a surgeon working lengthy hours to save and improve lives; his family has been doing the same for generations, building up substantial wealth in the process. They have a beautiful home and some fabulous art treasures in it. They put it on public display in a spirit of sharing, thereby generating more income. Beauty is a form of wealth: it makes us feel good by appealing to our higher feelings, making it a great attractor. There is nothing inherently wrong in this abstract local picture, unless and until you drag up the overarching backdrop of financial corruption corrupting everything. All these people are doing is reaping the benefits of doing good. Wealth per se does not equate with corruption. Conspiracy theory is bad for you.

The corollary also holds. Poverty is not necessarily virtue, for example when the above instance inspires envy. Poverty can be corrupt. Some people are sick and the last thing they want to lose is their illness. Poverty can easily be another kind of crutch. And this is the kind of corruption that is keeping the present system going. Rich people defend the status quo most of all by relying on the support they get from the poor feeling comfortable with their own exclusion. I am not saying poverty per se is evil: when you need little, that little becomes a lot and you are basically rich – you have everything you need. Poverty inspired by envy is different: it means having little and needing a lot, i.e. not being where you need to be. That is not evil in a moral sense; simply it is a block to getting where you need to be, i.e. a self-sustaining cause of dissatisfaction and unhappiness.

It is not for nothing that wealth rhymes with health. Wealth is literally (etymologically) wellness, and health is literally (etymologically) healing, or betterness. Wealth is a much vaster concept than mere financial well-being: the notion itself has been corrupted. This is something that a forum like Avalon is dedicated to correcting. If you prone free energy and the redistribution to all of the planet’s fabulous riches, as we do, then that is to prone wealth, albeit at no one’s expense, for there is enough to go round. Hence the scarcity paradigm is not a problem for the haves; it is a problem for the have-nots. They are the ones who need to change their thinking, notably by cultivating the opposite of envy – namely by feeling rich (happy) with what they have, i.e. having what they need. This will gradually include needing more, and having that as well. But that will not come from “soaking the rich”, which would be inspired by motives of envy. It will come from a new, richer form of wealth than the current corrupt (unhealthy) materialism, and as that in turn becomes prevalent, the current materialism will fall away, making way for this improved concept of wealth as health.
