Default Where does Critical Thinking end & self delusion begin?

I've experienced first hand many things that most people scoff at (astral projection, spirit contact, visions, premonitions that came true) but I still find myself rejecting certain things as "unlikely" or "unscientific". I don't believe one should just accept whatever "resonates" with one, either - I have also been wrong many times about things I felt were true.

For example, the whole Cern issue - it "resonates" with me that there is more to it than meets the eye; but I feel the science behind the anti-Cern posts is flawed. . . yet I am not scientifically or mathematically educated enough, so I can't quite explain why.

I suppose people like me can just wait & see. I've thought of applying "science" to the macro, the visible & tangible - but I know enough to be certain in myself, that Other Things exist in parallel to the world of Maya, under different Laws. It's something that troubles me quite a lot! Am I being simplistic, overthinking, or choosing my paradigm to suit myself?

I think we all want to believe in scientists, Doctors, those pushing the frontiers for us all.
Perhaps we are a little gullible---I would rather be open minded than cynical and mistrusting of everything.
Think you are a little hard on your human-ness, as you said its Maya--- John Lennon said "Nothing is real nothing to go on about."
    Everything is just fine.

In my experience the two converge like a set of railway tracks in the distance.

In reality they never do, but in perception they do. Reality is perception, perception is reality, both are interlocked. Time is not linear. And so on. There is no object or objective stance to be counter to... unless you perceive there to be. All things are true and false. There is only one fact, which is that there are no facts, it is paradox. Everything both builds and breaks down from that. Individual and consensus will and projection ....plays a part in everything.

We have building blocks of complimentary harmonic resonances of 2d field interactives... which are vestigially locked in pattern, but can be separated. We call them elements, we call their differentials space time. There are relational resonances patterns at different angles or vector from this system, we call them different dimensions.

    All is malleable.

As I age and hopefully get wiser and more aware I see self delusion as a form of fear. I almost want to say FEAR compartmentalizes many behaviors. I know two specific people in my life ( family) that cannot, will not shake their narcissistic position on mundane subjects. It also falls in line with the inability to confront, face their own frailities and foibles, so they "puff" themselves up with delusions. I am not a psych person by career but had my share of psych in treating patients and have had to study, teach others and observe bizarre behaviors. On another note, I have read that one of, if not the only behavior that is spiritually damaging and almost impossible to help is narcissism. That it is the very thing that is the black mark on humanity.

Quote We live in a society exquisitely dependent on science and technology, in which hardly anyone knows anything about science and technology.
    Carl Sagan

And to embellish that quote, "including the Scientists!"

The angst that you experience appears to be a programmed part of the human experience. To unravel the mysteries. Imagine just how uninspired we would all be if everything were known. Enjoy the ride!

Critical thinking stops where worry and fear starts. Thus drugs that ends fear and worry are illegal.

Beautifully said! Fear is immobilizing and that is precisely why the Archons use it as an instrument of control. Drugs, however, and in my personal opinion, are only a panacea and not a cure for the malaise that his strangling us. We need to free ourselves from worry and be free to explore our full human potential without the suffocating constructs of top down hierarchal systems, including the monetary system. (sorry a bit off topic maybe).
