    Context is also important.
When was it said, to who, by whom, in what context?
A lot can be implied in language without being said and this is dependent on the culture.
I could say something to a friend of my own town and they would get it--below the surface words/meaning.
If I said the same thing to some one of a different culture or even different town--the surface structure would be understood but not necessarily the full intent.
Its no wonder there are misunderstandings on forums where there is only the written word --no tone of voice, no body expression and coming from different life experiences.

We can agree to agree or disagree can we not, and part on good terms if not actually friends.

If this possibility is true then the next important question is... how conscious (meaning at the waking state level of one's consciousness) are they aware they are making stuff up? If they are mostly or completely not aware they are making it up, the truth could only be cracked by discovering true flaws in the story and confronting the individual. But even still - this might not shake out the truth as is well demonstrated in the movie - Shutter Island. I highly recommend folks see it or at least read the summary
Ah if anybody else would like to watch Shutter Island (2010) here's a link to download it (600Mb) that's valid for seven days (until 9th November) !

Another reason the ETs stay hidden , earth humans will embrace fantasy and kill the truth quickly... Most earth humans do not want to be responsible for their thoughts , actions and feelings... Its much easier to look for higher powers, or people in the know , anything to keep from looking in the mirror... Remember we are genetically altered with short life spans , our Syrian creator overlords knew what they were doing, it kept us from learning the truth and made us easy to control and manipulate...We operate on 10 percent brain use, imagine us at 50% , or 80% ...
That's right, subjectively this resonates with me, although most of what you write I cannot verify in any objective fashion, although I am open to the possibility that what you write could be true, as I recognize that reality and all manner of manifestations can be and is much stranger than my little subjective viewpoint can manage.

So, reading over the last several pages and looking at how different people discern and what filters they use, both subjective and objective, how they triangulate material to develop a "probability" and how to assign variables to these probabilities to develop a synthesis, I see that viewpoints are as varied as there are people.

So, is there really any way to get to a collective consensus on what is the truth and what is not? If it is possible, there has to be a mutual amount of variables distributed pretty evenly amongst the collective, in such a way that it correlates to the current reality, and then most would need to be at or near the same level of consciousnesses to absorb the variables in any similar fashion to come to similar conclusions.

Sometimes it just makes my head spin.
I will reply via quoting my last post in a different thread:

In my experience the two (critical thinking vs self delusion) converge like a set of railway tracks in the distance.

In reality they never do, but in perception they do. Reality is perception, perception is reality, both are interlocked. Time is not linear. And so on. There is no object or objective stance to be counter to... unless you perceive there to be. All things are true and false. There is only one fact, which is that there are no facts, it is paradox. Everything both builds and breaks down from that. Individual and consensus will and projection ....plays a part in everything.

We have building blocks of complimentary harmonic resonances of 2d field interactives... which are vestigially locked in pattern, but can be separated. We call them elements, we call their differentials space time. There are relational resonances patterns at different angles or vector from this system, we call them different dimensions.

    All is malleable.
My point is that personal responsibility in all things is the final domino in the given understanding. To consume and absorb all personal conscious and unconscious colorations as a sum total conscious condition.

Then you are free (more capable in that direction) to understand the facets of this place.

Expansion of self before expansion of understanding. Bigger cup, corrected cup emptied cup, then fill and understand. self..... then problem. Otherwise the brick wall of self blocks the attempt and process.

One sister and I have extremely different view of our parents although we both grew up in the same household and are only two years difference in age. She has extreme distain for our mother and I have extreme distain for our father.

We both have the same goal: to rid ourselves of these judgmental memories before we die. Fortunately neither of us is holding on to the idea that my truth is truer than yours. We both are coming to the conclusion that our parents had a codependency on each other that played out on us as children in different ways.

That is as close to ultimate truth as we can get. Consequently I doubt that we will get caught up in arguments about our respective judgments of others.

An element I see in the issue of discernment is the question of authority. In our western culture we are taught from a very young age to listen to outside authority, to parrot back outside authority in order to do well in school, and then to obey outside authority in the workplace, etc. And what about authors of books, experts on health, the information-packed internet? Even a commercial for shampoo can be experienced as an outside authority. This kind of very low-grade but sinister brainwashing is so pervasive as to be nearly invisible.

And then there is our own inner authority. I really can't say that I recall any kind of instruction about listening to the complexity and subtlety of my own inner authority while I was growing up. It is something that is rarely even talked about to a child, and also very rarely modeled. Learning to respect one's own inner authority can be very hit or miss even when you begin to want to listen. Inner authority and discernment are learned at different rates by different people and some people seem to be ahead of the game from the very beginning. Others like myself have to reinvent the wheel and the going is quite slow.

But it seems to me that the tendency to fall for the hustle is something purposefully and deeply engineered into our culture and those of us who are learning to disobey the outer-authority mandate and painstakingly develop our own inner authority and discernment are trailblazing for others who cannot yet do that. Discernment is not a cookie-cutter lesson. It is profoundly individual and is earned by hard work and often much pain. I see it as an act of defiance to learn to claim my own inner authority and discernment.
Thank you ErthVessel, with only a few words, gentelness and calm explanation, your words have touched the value of introspection and self authority. It was inspiring for me to read. Many Blessings ~

It's because of people like Phil Schneider, Andy Pero, and Cathy O'Brian who risked their lives to tell the truth to the world and risked everything to gain nothing other than their own peace of mind knowing they did the right thing. Phil was murdered for it, Andy Perot is missing, and Cathy OBrian has been in danger ever since. The Whistleblower will only become more predominant as the veil is completely lifted. Of course there are disinformation whistleblowers but you have to consider the source, the proof, the Risk and who gains something from it.

A member of Avaoln shared this link with me to this blog post I found quite excellent -

Cara St. Louis ~ The Saviour Programming: Keshe, Parkes, and Believe-ism

Quote Saviour programming, a persistent theme in human behavior from ancient times. More recently, it has surfaced in the social corridors of the internet via an assortment of characters who either foretell, or (attempt to) fulfill the expectations of a desperate generation for the ONE who will end suffering and deliver Man into a “golden age”. In the echoes of MU and Atlantis to Sumeria, Egypt, Babylonia, and the great western empires emerged a parade of figures from Quetzalquotal and Thoth to Prometheus and Zeus; Zarathustra to Buddha and Christ.
All the above is all and only my opinion - all subject to change and not meant to be true for anyone else regardless of how I phrase it.

Gosh, this thread can consume us with many avenues of thought. For me, 40 years of active listening reading studying teaching in the field of Metaphysics, I may have touched about 90% maybe of all the categories of learning. Was I duped? Oh you bet, dozens of times. My stories may show up in various threads throughout this forum. Getting duped, disappointed in information once thought real, does allow a learning curve. Helps with resonating and discernment. We NEED whistleblowers of the true blue real kind. They are vanguards we want in our lives. Someone has to do the dirty work and put their lives at risk for the masses. I will wager all of us have done so in past lives and now we are here cheering it on! However, I am at the point of stopping and thinking. Gullibility is a thing hopefully, of the past. ( one good trait of ageism). I have always revered the work of Bill and Kerry because they PUT it out there calling on the crows to sqawk. They pull it in so WE can discern and take in what feels real and what does not. And also, someone may have said this already, these whistleblowers believe it themselves and once believed can help others believe. If they were there in full bodiment, in participation, in viewing or hearing, that is even better. Being a voicebox comes with baggage and vulnerability even with good intentions.

We must not beat ourselves up over times we believed and were duped. It was an experience of learning that we use as a tool to discern the next piece of information. But throwing out the bathwater with the baby may be a missed opportunity to glean something important.
