Everything about crows is speculation and I’m sure many people will dispute the mystical representations that birds have, so I advise you to keep an open mind if you choose to read further.

Crow Facts
Crows are highly intelligent beings. They have the same brain/body size ratio as chimpanzees (also not far off from humans) and have an excellent memory. Dr. John Marzluff, of the University of Washington, conducted a study where a team of scientists from the university exposed crows in Seattle to a ‘dangerous face’ by wearing a mask while trapping, banding, and releasing birds at five sites. Whenever they wore the masks again, they received a very hostile response from the crows in the area, not only revealing how skilled their memory is, but also that they warn other crows as well.

Symbolism

Death
The crow is known as the ominous omen of death because it is the harbinger that guides souls from the realm of the living into the afterlife. The crow has a powerful knowledge of the changes of life and death and the changes in the cycles of life. So when a crow appears, it can be a warning or a spiritual blessing.
It is said that when death is near, a crow will come to a window or near a home repeatedly for several days before the passing takes place. After someone has passed, a crow will visit the home again in the same way. This is a symbol of a special message from the one who has just passed and it’s important to pay attention to when and where the crow appears as it’s a telling sign of the message being sent. Generally, this is a beautiful and profound symbol confirming the rebirth of your loved one, shedding from the old, and awakening into the new.



Since these are ancient interpretations, today we can instead look at the crow as the passing of the old and the birth of something new.

Change
The crow is an omen of change. Because they represent ancient magical laws and wisdom, when the crow calls to us, we have an instant flash of our authentic self; the crow sees our soul self. Crows have been known to build their nests very high up, giving them the chance to watch everything that is going on around them. By tuning into the sound of its call, it can remind you of who you are and what you are capable of.
You are being reminded that the answers to your questions are waiting to be discovered ahead of you and that you must look beyond your present range of vision, and to get out of your familiar comfortable space. Crows are adaptable to all environments and will eat almost anything. They can survive in almost any situation so when one presents itself to you it is reminding you that you can adapt and that now is the time for major change to take place that will awaken your authentic soul.

Magic and Clairvoyance
Crows not only harbour the message of change but remind us about the creation and magic all around us. The crow’s striking black colour represents the colour of creation. It is the womb out of which the new comes into existence. Black is the colour of the night, giving birth to the light of a new day. This is a representation of the immense power each and every one of us holds to take hold of our own destiny.
It is also said that the crow can also be appearing for you to to begin to use your ‘second sight’, the gift of clairvoyance. This is the gift that allows you to see beyond what we are humanly capable of, and a gift that can allow us to see into the spirit realm.

Human food like pizza and french fries is fine for these guys. Using it as bait in the city I was able to observe their group behavior many times, they signal to each other over a wide distance (bird's eye vision) and it is not too hard to detect them saying "come on down" or "stay up there and lookout". They have no problem making eye contact with a person and if you telepathize to them politely, they are comfortable getting their munchies quite close to you. Noticeably different from any other kind of birds who mostly have faster nervous impulses making them twitchy and flighty. As a species, yes, I can see them as a pretty strong link between the relative unknowns of death and nature to the human brain. I miss my crow buddies.

I actually had a huge black crow fly down and stand in front of me 3 weeks ago. It was immediately after I spread my mothers ashes. I was taken back by it. At first I thought it was a bad thing. It stood there for what seemed like a few minutes. My aunt who was with me said that it was a good thing❤️

I can not say with certainty whether it is a growing phenomenon, but there was no crows in this huge number about 10 years ago in cities. Their number is rapidly increasing in all European cities, and I would like to know what is the cause?
I can also notice the feeling that Crows create in most people and it is discomfort. These birds are not pleasing to the eye, nor do they have a nice song (birds chirping) .. moreover they attack other birds, pigeons, doves, sparrows and other small birds. For several years I'v noticed that Zagreb, the Croatian capital, is increasingly starting to look like a scene from the Hitchcocks movie "The Birds" ..

I saw a dream that a crow flew in from a window and started bullying my sisters dog. Some time later the dog became ill and passed away.

Some years ago, I had a dream where I was in a forest with beech trees together with a friend from the past.
Suddenly this friend threw a ball at me (violently with the aim to harm).
I grabbed a stick and managed to hit the ball away from me before it hit me.

The ball exploded in a swarm of crows, falling to the ground and one of them was white.

The dream left a feeling with me that there was some sort of magic going in that dream.
Some sort of magic attack perhaps and I blocked it.

Never found a relation to events in everyday life.

I was going through a period of immense change for me where I had just changed career path, and divorced, and I was terrified on an almost daily basis about whether I had made the right decisions - whether the decisions came from my core of being, or if I was just flaking out. I new I couldn't have really made other decisions, but it was terrifying none the less. I really struggled to get out of bed some mornings, and I was getting almost desperate.

A crow, or crows, started insistently tapping, really loudly on a window near my bedroom, on several mornings, when I'd be lying in bed like a frightened child, trying to summon the strength just to move and do something. I was convinced already that crows are powerful beings, and I felt as if I suddenly had this amazing friend at hand that was saying "Get up. Get up. Face the day. Be who you are. Don't give in to fear." It helped so much.

These occurrences only lasted a couple of a couple of weeks, and they were gone. Thank you crows!

I live in a suburb that translates from the local language to mean "crow fountain" & there are always crows about; they make eye contact with one & are very confident, even chasing off seagulls who have flown inland.

I have something to share. One year ago, more or less, we found a crow in the street, he could not fly. We took him home and took care of him. He had no problems been around no screaming at home. He recovered and flew away. He may come to see us this year, that will be something.

My instinct is that they're here to help, or at least do their part in what seems to be a big period of change for humanity, in whatever sense, but I prefer to imagine the positive! As in maybe they are the manifestation of a change that is taking place anyway. I have the same instinct about foxes - they are starting to run rampant in a few UK cities, and settling further and further in.

Most are going to think this is a terrible thing. There are a few stories of them attacking people, and their presence near our homes obviously isn't really compatible with ours on a few levels. But when I look at their symbolism, I start to wonder whether they may be a positive presence for now.

I live in the country, so it is not unusual to see wildlife. On July, 2010, I asked for confirmation on a pressing question. Less than an hour later there was a 100% white crow caw-cawing in my pine tree just 50 feet away. It happened that my mail carrier came by twenty minutes later. I had just finished the story, when as if on cue, WhiteCrow did a fly-by.

And again early morning, on September, 2010, I looked for a synchronicity. Several hours later, there was a 100% black deer right in the middle of a country road waiting for his buddy to cross the pasture while my dog, Wolfie, and I were out for a walk.

In both cases, I was not aware until I researched that there are 100% white crows and black deers. (side note: When I first came to Avalon my name was WhiteCrowBlackDeer.)

Every summer we have a least one set of nesting crows on our property. Nothing mystical has happened. They like to drink from the bird bath that's shared with the Stellar's Jay. One year we had two pair of crows and two pair of squirrels stealing nuts from each other. What a racket!

He´s right above a pot of peanut butter but not interested in it.

The peanut butter is there for the birds especialy for the winter.

The bird takes a relaxed look inside our livingroom and not intimitated of our two cats or the dog.

For the Tibetans, The Crow is the king of the birds and also is the simbol of one of the Protectors, Mahkala.
I simply love them, it's so entertaining to watch them.

Thank you for this thread. I have had a consistent 18 months to observe them. They've been here and a constant presence in my life since I relocated to the Carolina Coast. I have to admit that I have been impatient with them as well as honoring them. Yes, I have sent mixed messages because I have felt that I have receive mixed messages. I believe I could write a short book on the whole of my experiences with them.

Like all birds they are extremely aware of and have certain energies they prefer. I can't say what that is for sure because I have struggled so much in my own situation. I can say this. They have always been there when I attempt to clear my chakras. The more free I become the more agitated and loud they become. They come closer to hold on to their connections and as I become free they move further away again. This has been 100 percent consistent. My conclusions may be off but their reaction to me when I pray, clear chakras or meditate is always there.

I have concluded at times that it is quite possible I'm dealing with shape shifters. Their movements in towards higher energies, when I'm clear and a loft on the turbulence in between are not like one would imagine. As soon as the town did their repair of the water drainage system behind the houses and the alley was widened and cleared they began to use it like a road to come and go. I sometimes call them the lurkers. They appear out of nowhere oftentimes when I walk the dog. One may call to the others but that usually hides another that will come from right above where I'm sitting in the kitchen and they make sure I see them when they fly away after I've cleared what I perceive as a draining connection or parasitic connection.

Last month I even believe one was hitchiking on my car. I cam to a stop at the light after doing 50 mph and as I stopped there it was at car height as if it just detached from the roof or right side of my car as it flew forward slightly parallell to my lane and direction then curved off and ascended skyward. Oftentimes one will be outside the window as i meditate as well. LIke I said as I clear they appear to not be happy but I cannot say for sure because maybe their reacting to something else that I cannot see or sense as I clear myself. This is the major observations and again it is not something that has happened occasionally or even half the time. These trends have been as consistent as an accurate clock. That is to say one that is right more than twice per day. Anyway,

I would imagine that I have communicated with them a lot both verbally and telepathically. They have never been aggressive but they have been persistent and consistent. I have long pondered their intelligence and have noted certain forms of communication that have come and gone to some extent as I"ve evolved this past 18 months. I generally think of them as two groups. The ones that are just intelligent birds with a higher perhaps more active connection to spirit and then there are the ones that I attribute a certain devious nature too. I say that I perceive they are the gossips the deceivers that I have complained about in the past.

The information you've presented is novel on several levels. I do have one book by Bobby Lake- Thom. Spirits Of The Earth. This is the closest I've come to even attempting to gather my thoughts on what I've observed over the last year and half. It is by no means complete.

I started observing crows after we moved into THEIR territory 1000 ft above the ocean. They resided in the many trees while the rabbits hid from them in the bushes. Their cawing had me searching for what the frequency and burst meant and I was able to actually see which bird cawed and which bird responded as we live on a tier and below us are the roofs of where they sit. I could distinguish the familial and the hi howa doing kind of caw from the alarming ones whereby a hawk would circle or there would be territorial wars or food. I don't know how they got along with the seagulls, because seagulls usually rule the roost at the beachfront. I would imagine that could bring up a real scrap game. Its not really that hard to understand, that the crow when they are alarmed do not have the more perfected paced rhythmical caw. It becomes anxious, unstructured and the volume goes up.
I want to say like the rest of you that crows are awesome, but to my way of thinking they are yes, very intelligent, but devious, shrewd. We have songbirds and other birds, hummingbirds that nest in the same location and I have seen crows bully and attack their nests. I still don't understand being a predator to their own kind, their own species.
