I had an experience, approximately 3 months ago and I am wondering if anyone here can shed any light on this for me?

I had a very vivid dream at a time when I was asking for guidance for my higher purpose and for help in teaching me all about the spiritual aspects of life. This creature, half man, half snake, appeared in my dream, though it felt very very real. He was in my garden, was extremely shy and would freeze when I looked at him. I tried to communicate but I got nothing at all. It was very strange. I noticed that his skin on his tail was sheading, as a normal snake skin would do too. When I realised that communication wasn't going to take place, I turned away and went indoors. I looked back at him and he didn't seem to mind me watching from indoors. He looked at me, turned away and lifted a plant that was in my garden. The plant had an enormous bulbous root. I turned away, and as I looked back he was slithering off to the top of my garden with this root in hand, and that is where the experience ends.

Has anyone got any ideas as to what this was? What this creature was? I believe it was a real experience, and not a dream. It was far too vivid.

    Any replies are very welcome!

    Thank you for reading

    Hello there Mpod001!

Last year, near Springtime, maybe earlier, I had a dream like yours.
    Except, of course, different, lol.

In my dream, I was homeless. There was a large dirt and gravel lot all around. But no cars.
There was a big casino at the back of the lot (but no cars??).
I had a bunk bed outdoors (!) (this was a warning dream about homelessness and gamling!),
and in my hand there was a plastic bag with a large cabbage inside.

When I got close to the bunk bed, which was standing on the dirt against a rocky cliff with some small thin trees at the bottom,
I tried to lift the cabbage onto the bed but could not (trees?). I ended up just tossing the whole bag into the middle of the closest tree.
My clumsiness was frustrating in the dream -- that I couldn't put the cabbage away properly was very strange.

I started walking toward the side edge of the parking lot. My spouse's vehicle appeared. I could see my mother's mother inside the car,
perhaps with my son, and definitely with my husband. When I approached the car, the doors closed and they left me standing there in the dirt, homeless.

The lot seemed to expand as the darkness fell. I started walking again toward the casino.
My eyes went back toward the area of the parking lot where the car had been.
A bit closer to me, in that spot, was another bed!

It was one of those fancy canopy beds -- except it looked homemade -- shabby maybe -- made of the wrong materials.
My dead father was lying on the bed in repose, with his hands folded on his breast like the Pharaoh's mummy.

The bunk bed was surrounded by at least six to eight snake people, as you describe.

I think the term for these beings is "Lamia" or "Naga".
They were not evil reptilians. They were very spiritual creatures and extremely connected to our planet.
They were paying honor to my dead father even though everyone else in the world hated him.
It looked so strange, to see these naga people surrounding my father's body and taking care of him.
I felt as if they were protecting him somehow from the indignity of the world around him.

My own troubles and my own life seemed much smaller when I looked over and saw my father in death,
and the spirits loving his memory. They were earth spirits or water spirits, these snake people.
They were very real but at the same time existed in a reality that is clearly different from ours.

In the dream, I did end up going into the casino and finding 200 dollars on the ground.
The very next day, in real life, I went to a casino and won 200 dollars during my first play session.
I didn't learn my lesson in spite of the warning from the dream, and ended up reaching a new low.

    ________________________________________________________________________________

In his own real life, my father dreamed of being a herpetologist, which is a person who studies reptiles, including snakes.
The snake is the symbol of wisdom -- not taught but inherent -- which is why they rarely speak.
    We are to observe them.

Thank you for sharing your dream.
Perhaps the snake person was telling you to go "to the root" of your life, and your troubles, to examine reality at the fundament and decide if it suits you.
The word "radical" means "to the root", if I am not mistaken, so perhaps the being was warning of a change or of a state of being that is not suitable.

Or he could have just been enjoying your plant, I don't know, lol!

    _____________________________

p.s. I didn't really want to mention the garden of Eden, but perhaps the snake was telling you to put your roots deeper!

After reading your initial post and interpreting it in my own mind, I have come to the conclusion that the shedding of the snakes skin may mean that you are shedding the part of you that is dying and now being reborn. This could also be applied to the large bulbous root which was picked - the coming of new beginning and good growth. As for the snake creature not wanting to converse, maybe it could be interpreted as being yourself here at the forum, or in your everyday life - new to the world which you are experiencing without all the watered down lies and shy about letting your thoughts and feelings be known. This is just what I thought and someone may interpret it differently than I, but just wanted to let you know what I thought it could be.

Are you shedding the veil as you are seeking. I mean are you purging negatives or things you couldn't forgive yourself for/beat yourself up over? It seems like you are shedding in your garden. Perhaps the other being was yourself? Were the facial features familiar? If your true form/higher self appeared in its form, perhaps you didn't recognize yourself or like I said, perhaps you are shedding/purging to clear your mind for better connection. He took a root and left, perhaps the root is where you are right now and you hold it in your hands? IDK, seems it's shedding something and by being here, reaching out, you are shedding the questions of truth by finding the answers and taking what you need and going back to the garden.

You or your sexual orientation or fear of your sexuality could be the snake/man
The snake man is 'coming out' of his skin/ cover/old self.
    He is shy and uncommunicative.
He shows you it's time to take that which is buried planted.
The 'enormous root' could be the prostate/penis .
You turn your back on him.
You chose to stay behind closed doors/inside.

Normal sort of blokes Homophobic dream. Don't worry about who you are, just love who you are.

Your message from the universe randomly chosen just for you from Teal Scott web page goes as follows.

Having someone to be in love with is not the CAUSE of our happiness. Rather it is a manifestation which feels so good to focus on that it becomes AN EXCUSE to focus positively. It is the positive focus which is responsible for the feeling of happiness. But whether or not we have or don't have the excuse to focus positively, we still have the power to focus positively on what we have instead of on what we don't have. And the result will be... joy."

    Hello, Martin...

Quote The snake spirit guide represents healing, transformation, life changes; connected to life force and primal energy. You’re about to go through significant personal changes, so intense and dramatic that an old self will metaphorically die as a new self emerges. We can shed our illusions and limitations, then we are able to use or vitality and desires to achieve wholeness. You’ll experience a dramatic unexpected physical or emotional healing very soon, coming from an unexpected source.

A rather common 'dream' for those who are having a spiritual breakthrough!!! Kundalini!!!! Usually a female energy, or visual. But ALWAYS quite powerful. You are experiencing an awakening,,, don't cause it to be 'shy', or 'freeze' when you observe it... Come fly with us!!!!

Greetings. If I may I will add my insights from your learning and growing experience. Dreams are our mirrors into our souls. Dreams are our tool to see what is truly going on in our life, in one's mind or our own, and thought patterns and particularly the frictions and obstacles of learning and growing as we digest all the blessings of each day during the course of our outward blossoming in awareness.

Now with that said let me first state a lot of communication was going on here. Much much. Lets dive in and reveal what I see now. I know you said you feel it was not a dream, too 'vivid' as I recall but lets say it was a dream. A very deep and self initiated learning and growing experience brought out for you to explore in your conscious awareness now. What I see is this.

Seeking spiritual help is just what it appears. Seeking your apparent roots. I say that because the symbols seem to indicate Catholic or Christian roots for upbringing. The garden, the snake, and prayer of course. Now looking at the start of the dream the 'snake/man' is you. Its not a separate someone, it is a reflection as all other symbols in the dream are as well. When you see him it is you. Aspects of you and it indicates to me some waking behaviors probably very present in the time of the dream in your life. I suggest he is not just in your garden but the garden and all in it represent your present life at the time of the dream in other words. The shy man/snake being represents your leanings toward higher learning probably outside the teachings of the church which causes the 'shy' reaction. You study this stuff, find it interesting even but lets not shine the light on that too much in your life lest someone discover it? I'd suggest looking at that more in your life. Its a conflict of sorts over coming out about something probably to do with faith.

The snake shedding skin is evolving, learning growing and expanding of your awareness. Its what that means basically and it could be relationship based as in you need to go inward to better digest or better process privately. Maybe your partner is not as comfortable as this adds to the obstacles of processing or coming out with your views because apparently behind closed doors you are perfectly comfortable feeling one way but when out you put on a different mask. You act Christian but your leanings are taking you more and more away from it and thus the need to shy away, retreat inward, deal with the growth and learning private like since as you said yourself there is no one to communicate with over it. So in the end what do we have? We have the scene of the root ball and plant as you or an aspect of your inner self shows you your own actions in life in reflection. You carry your core beliefs, the enormous bulbous root ball symbol of your core beliefs and you slither off privately to deal with the struggle. The dream cries for you to do what you have done here today, reach out and share, communicate and blossom. Ultimately it may be suggesting you are dealing with a break up and moving on if it was looked at in another way using sexual tensions, and relationships instead of religion. There may be some of both in the dream and the relationship issue may be worthy of further investigation. I went with my gut tho feeling you probably are more likely dealing with the internal issues of coming out about controversial areas of your learning that directly fly in the face of your root teachings and learning growing up.

Roots: To see plant or tree roots in your dream symbolize the depths and core of your subconscious mind and soul. It represents your values and belief system. Alternatively, roots denote your family ties and bonds. You may be searching into your past. Or perhaps you need to get to the root of some problem in your waking life.

To dream that you are pulling up roots suggests that you are ready to move on from the past. You have to let go of the relationship that is holding you back.

    ¤=[Post Update]=¤

Garden To see a vegetable or fruit garden in your dream indicates that your hard work and diligence will pay off in the end. It is also symbolic of stability, potential, and inner growth. You need to cultivate a new skill or nurture your spiritual and personal growth.

To see a flower garden in your dream represents tranquility, comfort, love and domestic bliss. You need to be more nurturing.

To see a sparse, weed-infested garden suggests that you have neglected your spiritual needs. You are not on top of things.

Planting To dream that you are planting something represents your faith and optimism about the future. You have an optimistic view..

Serpent To see a serpent in your dream signifies the balance of good and evil.

To see a winged serpent in your dream denotes wisdom. You have overcome the negativity in your life.

Snake To see a snake or be bitten by one in your dream signifies hidden fears and worries that are threatening you. Your dream may be alerting you to something in your waking life that you are not aware of or that has not yet surfaced. Alternatively, the snake may be seen as phallic and thus symbolize temptation, dangerous and forbidden sexuality. In particular, to see a snake on your bed suggests that you are feeling sexually overpowered or sexually threatened. You may be inexperienced, nervous or just unable to keep up. If you are afraid of the snake, then it signifies your fears of sex, intimacy or commitment. The snake may also refer to a person around you who is callous, ruthless, and can't be trusted. As a positive symbol, snakes represent healing, transformation, knowledge and wisdom. It is indicative of self-renewal and positive change. In particular, dreaming of a red snake highlights the positive characteristics of the snake, as well as your fiery passion. To see a baby snake in your dream means that you are underestimating some threat in your waking life. To see the skin of a snake in your dream represents protection from illnesses.

To see a snake with a head on each end in your dream suggests that you are being pulled in two different directions. You are feeling overburdened and do not know whether you are coming or going. Your actions are counterproductive. Perhaps the dream represents some complicated love triangle. Alternatively, the dream signifies your desires for children. If you see a two-headed snake in your dream, then it refers to cooperation and teamwork in some relationship.

To dream of a snake without a head or without any eyes implies that you are refusing to see the danger in a situation. Alternatively, it means that you are being blindsided. To dream that a snake is being beheaded indicates that there is an issue that you are not confronting. You are refusing to face your fears. To see a bodiless snake in your dream refers to some biting or cutthroat remarks. To see a dead snake in your dream means that a threat has passed.

To dream that you are eating a live snake indicates that you are looking for intimacy or sexual fulfillment. Your life is lacking sensuality and passion. If you vomit or throw up the snake, then it may mean that you are overcompensating for something that is lacking in your life. You may be rushing into something. To dream that a snake is eating another snake represents your drive and determination to succeed at whatever cost. ***Go to Common Dreams: Snake Dreams for further analysis. Creatures To see a faceless creature in your dream indicates a situation you are refusing to see or confront, but are aware of it in some passive way. This dream also suggests that something in your life is bringing up feelings of fear and insecurities.

Hallo and thank you, Martin, or mpod001 .

I took the liberty of highlighting some words in the quote of your post.
Often we answer our own questions if we just ask them from enough
angles and perspectives .... ( and take the time to read, or look, back
at them, slightly distanced from our daily selves, or indoors :- )
And a dream is a real experience, like you clearly mediate here.

I am now going to comment on some of them :

    - Shed
No comment necessary. That word is covered above in this thread ...
Well, a Shed is not unusual in a garden ..

    - Vivid
Some more or less relevant links :
    http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/vivid

    - Communicate
There are many ways of communicating, some far beyond mere words.
Literate people, and it seems you might are one, often tend(ense) to
narrow the definition of communication to something written or spoken.
You asked for guidance, or however universe interpreted you question,
and maybe you got what you asked for, allthough not in the way you
anticipated. You were shown something important, and you did see it.

    - Bulbous
    Sounds almost obscene. No comment
    Or just for laughs:

    - Looked (back)
Way to go, on the track to understanding the guidanceasked for.
And the way response was conveyed to you, perhaps ?
Deaf people have made language into gestures and signs acompanied
by facial and bodily expressions and postures, clearifying the meaning.
What you see is what you get. Could that be part of the message ?

    - This root ( This creature )
This. In context, should it may be That ?
In a broader sense we are all This, or it.

After some hours by(e) the computer some words plays tricks on my eyes.
On first glance your OP (Opening Post) read like: All reptiles are welcome.

In my experience there are many different types of dream.
Depending on the dreamer and the moment, and whatever

    Be (a) well.
