Default Proxima B discovered and called our Neighbors - Are we soon to prove life in the Universe?

CNN breaking news, a new planet the same approximate size of earth in the habitable zone around it's star has been located. They are calling it our closest neighbor that may support life.

Make sure it's inhabitated. In the video it's said the x-ray concentration is very high, due the the short distance to it's sun.
    I have doubts.

I guess that at their best they would be able to say if the planet has conditions to sustain life as we know it.
So unless there are ways to travel there a lot faster than now is possible, it will take hundreds of years to find out if the planet has life or not.

What you must consider is that the military industrial complex has technologies to take E.T home....They are
1000s of years ahead of public technology...That means they have portal and long distant travel already sorted.
They are probably building a base on Proxima as we speak.

Cor Blimey guvnor don't you think our planet has got enough life and beauty in it? There's more variety than anyone can take right now. I may not belong here but I certainly ain't interested in any planet out there the media wishes to "reveal". They can stick their habitable planets up their proverbial black holes and bugger off there themselves if it's such a darn nice place to live. Might even make it more pleasant here for the rest of us dont ya think?

Neighbouring star Proxima Centauri has Earth-sized planet

    By Jonathan Amos
    BBC Science Correspondent
    24 / 8 /16

The nearest habitable world beyond our Solar System might be
right on our doorstep - astronomically speaking.Scientists say
their investigations of the closest star, Proxima Centauri, show
it to have an Earth-sized planet orbiting about it.

What is more, this rocky globe is moving in a zone that would
make liquid water on its surface a possibility.

Proxima is 40 trillion km away and would take a spacecraft
using current technology thousands of years to reach.

Scientists find Earth-like planet circling sun's nearest neighbour

    By Irene Klotz

Scientists have discovered a planet that appears to be similar to Earth circling the
star closest to the sun, potentially a major step in the quest to find out if life exists
elsewhere in the universe, research published on Wednesday showed.

Breaking News: Closest Ever Earth-like Planet Discovered Orbiting Proxima Centauri

    Published on 14 Aug 2016

Scientists are preparing to unveil a new planet in our galactic neighbourhood which
is "believed to be Earth-like" and orbits its star at a distance that could favour life,
German weekly Der Spiegel reported on August 12, 2016.

A 'Habitable' Planet Found Around Nearest Star Proxima Centauri

    Published on 18 Aug 2016

Does the nearest star to our solar system host worlds of its own? 2016 could be the
year we find out, as the nearby red dwarf star Proxima Centauri gets scrutinized by
astronomers in unprecedented detail using a variety of search methods.

One of the most exciting is the Pale Red Dot initiative. Led by the European
Southern Observatory (ESO) scientists, Pale Red Dot is a public campaign to
examine Proxima Centauri for exoplanets using the radial velocity method, which
looks to tease out the signal of an orbiting planet tugging on its host star. 51 Pegasi
    – the first exoplanet discovered orbiting a Sun-like star in 1995 – was discovered
using this method, and hundreds of discoveries that followed.

Amazing find. Makes one wonder if tptb already knew of this one. Long shot for intelligent life but still a rocky planet we could maybe use for interstellar exploration as a supply base...

Not that I'm all in on this theory, but, Damon t berry, put it out there on his knowledge of the forever time series that It's becoming more and more obvious that we have destroyed our own planet and need to gtfo sooner than later...

Do we really has a whole want to discover life, especially official confirmed intelligence life? If it is not under our control it is considered by some to be a potential threat.

this MAY be a possibility, but; until we have proof it's nothing.

I do not disagree that this is VERY possible.. but don't extrapolate possible to "what is"... that's just not good logic.

Keep it in mid that at least this is a possibility *(or not true at all)*, but that's it... for now. Our perceptions (reality, really) are too fluid to think otherwise.

and that's BEFORE anything like the "Mandela effect".. which tosses even MORE doubt into the picture.

I do agree. BUT this is speculation. I _believe_ in reincarnation and stuff like, but that is still just a belief. For sure I dont know.

Personally I don't know that THIS planet discovery is the "big reveal about to come" but it does seem that in recent years there is more and more of a growing public discourse about life outside of planet earth. Some believe that the governments of this world have long known about the existence of extra terrestrial life forms and that perhaps they are even in contact with them but they have been keeping this "secret" from the public for whatever reason (knowledge is power?). If this is true, is it possible that the "secret" is no longer able to be kept so now now the masses are being prepped slowly for the big reveal that life does exist outside of planet earth? And, will those in the know simply try to put a spin on it so it appears that they haven't known this all along? Or better yet, will they finally admit that they have known it for a long time but tell us they kept it secret for our own safety and security?

I believe the Chinese are working already on a plan for this.
As they already messed up with this planet, now they need to mess up others.

Nope, that's just very clever propaganda based on the globalist "climate change" (aka global warming) diatribe.

    Who walks anymore?

do you realize just HOW MASSIVE this planet is? I live on an island that you can't even see on the globe it's so small, 28 miles long 7 miles wide at it's widest point.... 90% of the ISLAND landmass is still "bush" (aka jungle).. it's the WORST place I've EVER SEEN for litter (trash.. everywhere) & has a 10 acer oil refinery that's just rotting away at this point.

even with all that.. the island thrives..

we are smaller than flees on a dog, we are inconsequential on this planet for the most part... yet we think we can "mess this planet up"?

    Here's some perspective:

352,670,000,000,000,000,000 gallons of water (estimated) in the oceans (which is 97% of the planets water).

Take a good look at that number, now consider this:

One British thermal unit (Btu) is the energy required to raise one pound of water by one degree Fahrenheit. A U.S. gallon of water weighs 8.3 pounds. So, to raise one gallon of 55°F water up to 56°F it would take 8.3 BTU's

    One BTU is approximately:

    1.054 to 1.060 kJ (kilojoules)
    0.293071 W·h (watt hours)
252 to 253 cal (calories, or "little calories")
0.25 kcal (kilocalories, "large calories", or "food calories")
    25,031 to 25,160 ft·pdl (foot-poundal)
    778 to 782 ft·lbf (foot-pounds-force)
    5.40395 (lbf/in2)·ft3

The IEA estimates that, in 2013, total world energy consumption was 9,301 Mtoe , or 3.89 × 1020 joules, equal to an average power consumption of 12.3 terawatts (12300000000000 watt hours).

so every bit of power we made in 2013 is 3567000000000 btu....
to raise the oceans 1 degree it would take 2927161000000000000000 BTU (see what I'm talking about here??)

Energetically, there's NO WAY we could possibly effect this planet as a whole or "mess it up"... we simply do not have enough power. Our ego's sure would like to think we can do something like that.. but we don't even know very much about 2/3's of this planet and we physically occupy less than 1% of the remaining 1/3 of the planet...

Look into it, you're falling for a PSYop.

IMO, we need to explore THIS planet still... not go to others...

The IEA estimates that, in 2013, total world energy consumption was 9,301 Mtoe , or 3.89 × 1020 joules, equal to an average power consumption of 12.3 terawatts (12300000000000 watt hours).

so every bit of power we made in 2013 is 3567000000000 btu.

Because we are not natural and live under the circumstances of 'money-for-life' and the few 'money-from-greed/power' we do things like: HAARP, Chem-Trails, Hide Atomic-Waste under the ground where our water tables are, doing the same with our massive, day to day rubbish mountains

I drove to the coast the other day, haven't been in ten years. we couldn't park in the town we wanted to visit, so we pushed on along the coast. When we got out and got near the sea, we saw a massive change to the south coast of England, and smelled an even bigger change, it smelled like a pooy-sewer

I couldn't imagine casting out a line there to catch supper anymore

please don't make me do more maths... haha

I can extrapolate the above idea onto any "ecological impact" area you want to talk about (the water thing is just the easiest one). Since we do nothing on this earth but re-locate the minimal amount of resources we have extracted from it, about the only thing we can do is make very small localized areas "uncomfortable" for our selves... the earth doesn't care so much if we are comfortable or not, she doesn't care if we move an elbow skin cell to the hand, then become unhappy with that placement.....

we are a mite on the flee on a dog... or maybe an ameba on the mite on the flee on the dog...

New planet ‘could be another Earth just on our doorstep’ – astronomer

    Published on 24 Aug 2016

Astronomers have detected a new planet orbiting the star Proxima Centauri, which
is four light years away from Earth. The planet is similar to the size of Earth and the
right distance away from the star it orbits to have liquid water. Lisa Kaltenegger, the
director of the Carl Sagan Institute at Cornell University, tells RT America’s Anya
Parampil that the new planet “could be another Earth just on our doorstep.”
