    Hello Everyone:
I remember when they put a few test scanners in airports saying that we would have the option to be patted down or go through the scanners. NOW it appears that the option disappeared from the play book! I guess law abiding citizens give sexier pictures than criminals! Now enough to have over 50% being scanned the powers that be want the full 100%! Who knows maybe theirs photo trading going on and none of are privy so we could shut the scanners off.
It always amazes me how law abiding citizens are cast with a worse brush that the criminals their supposedly look for..........

PS Good Luck Ken O'Keefe! Our prayers for safe passage go with you!

I just refused one in a UK airport on the grounds of concerns about long term affects on health. The response, apart from subtle contempt and ridicule, was that I would be escorted into a side room and subject to a "private search". Obviously such terminology conjures up images of latex gloves "going where no man has gone before", but I decided to stick to my guns and press ahead with my convictions anyway. To my relief, the "private search" was just a pat down and a going over with the hand-held metal detector, the private aspect being merely that it took place in private.

I think they use the "private search" phrase to intimidate folk into complying by simply allowing their imagination to do its work, as it tried to do with me. However, when faced with similar situations, I always try to remember to choose love over fear. and then it normally works out, as it did this time
