Default TWILIGHT ZONE NEW YEARS MARATHON says it all!

Hello good people. I have been quiet on avalon. Those of you who know my whistleblower and informer portraits can see I am up to 75 now, on my way to 100 paintings as one complete work. Bill and Kerry included !
    www.dougauld.com/whistleblowers

My favorite part of New Years is the much treasured Twilight Zone marathon that spans several days. I paint to them , eat to them and watch them late night

Rod Serling is truly one of the most impactful influences in my adult life. The Twilight zones cover it all, every human thought and trait , strength and weakness, human bravado, ego, selfishness, youth and the hardship of aging, all embedded within the great mystery of the unknown.

I owe Rod Serling a great deal in teaching me about the human condition since watching them as a little kid on up to this very day, especially while no school or adult taught me anything of any real usable content.

Anyone else feel as I do.

Best to all this 2017 and hold on to your hat!

Thank you Doug for this most wonderful gift. You have captured the emotions that I feel when thinking about those whistleblowers that I do know of and inspired me to learn about the rest.

    They're really excellent.
Perhaps, when you've reached your current 100 goal, you could do another 'set'.
This set might consist of the whistle blower martyrs.
People who blew the whistle and were killed for it.

For example, both Karla Turner and Phil Schneider were both that they would be
killed if they didn't shut up... then they were killed.

    Just a suggestion :-)

Excellent paintings Doug and what a wonderful way to honor those brave men and women who value truth, knowledge and doing the right thing over even their own reputation, livelihood, and life. They are a rare breed indeed and the world needs many more like them.

And another man of exceptional vision and talent, a man far ahead of his time, was Rod Serling. His original Twilight Zone series was--and still is in my opinion--one of the best television series ever produced. My wife and I grew up watching the Twilight Zone and continue to watch it whenever we can when it is aired--including (most of) the New Years weekend marathon(s). It is my all time favorite TV series.
