If the federal government on this subject, marijuana, and how dangerous it is has no credibility because of the lack of serious empirical work it threatens our whole policy's credibility.

Prediction: 20 years from now cannabis will be considered a new "miracle" substance. With over 200 (some say more) active ingredients, the research possibilities are over the moon. Preliminary findings so far are very promising. The two that attract my attention are:
1. Smoking the stuff halts and REVERSES cognitive decline that occurs with aging.
2. Ingesting the stuff INCREASES lung function.
These two findings run counter to the prevailing drug paradigm and accepted logic. My oh my.

And, big pharma despises cannabis. That tells me there is something beneficial there.

As for the high one gets from cannabis it is much ado about very little.
