Eclipse and Salem(s) coincidence?

So I stumbled across a website that noted a fairly remarkable coincidence regarding this eclipse.

He brings up some other interesting points, but the primary gist of it is as follows:

1. Salem, Oregon
2. Salem, Idaho
3. Salem, Wyoming (was renamed to ‘Lindbergh’ – resides on outer edge of band)
4. Salem, Nebraska
5. Salem, Missouri
6. Salem, Kentucky
7. Salem, South Carolina

It appears that this eclipse band travels through ALL of these cities. I took a quick glance on google maps and unless I missed something in my haste, this does appear to be correct. But note that there is no Salem in Wyoming anymore, as the city was renamed to Lindbergh some time ago.

Anyways, I just thought this was fascinating. Any thoughts?

Maybe the seven Salems denote the Seven Seals in the Book of Revelations. The word Seal can be anagrammed from Salem minus the M. Brother Guy Consolmagno is in Kentucky to witness the eclipse. He's the director of the Vatican Observatory.
