Alex may have a good point. Look how google is trying to corner the market on AI software just as they did with mobile phone software (ie. android):

How Google Aims To Dominate Artificial Intelligence

In November 2007, Google laid the groundwork to dominate the mobile market by releasing Android, an open source operating system for phones. Eight years later to the month, Android has an an 80 percent market share, and Google is using the same trick—this time with artificial intelligence.

Today Google is announcing TensorFlow, its open source platform for machine learning, giving anyone a computer and internet connection (and casual background in deep learning algorithms) access to one of the most powerful machine learning platforms ever created. More than 50 Google products have adopted TensorFlow to harness deep learning (machine learning using deep neural networks) as a tool, from identifying you and your friends in the Photos app to refining its core search engine. Google has become a machine learning company. Now they’re taking what makes their services special, and giving it to the world.

Introducing TensorFlow, the Android of AI

TensorFlow is a library of files that allows researchers and computer scientists to build systems that break down data, like photos or voice recordings, and have the computer make future decisions based on that information. This is the basis of machine learning: computers understanding data, and then using it to make decisions. When scaled to be very complex, machine learning is a stab at making computers smarter. That's the broader, and more ill-defined field of artificial intelligence. TensorFlow is extraordinary complex, because of its precision and speed in digesting and outputting data, and can unequivocally be placed in the realm of artificial intelligence tools.

Here are the nitty-gritty details: the TensorFlow system uses data flow graphs. In this system, data with multiple dimensions (values) are passed along from mathematical computation to mathematical computation. Those complex bits of data are called tensors. The math-y bits are called nodes, and the way the data changes from node to node tells the overall system relationships in the data. These tensors flow through the graph of nodes, and that's where the name TensorFlow comes from.

Open-sourcing TensorFlow allows researchers and even grad students the opportunity to work with professionally-built software, sure, but the real effect is the potential to inform every machine learning company’s research across the board. Now organizations of all sizes—from small startups to huge companies on par with Google—can take the TensorFlow system, adapt it to their own needs, and use it to compete directly against Google itself. More than anything, the release gives the world’s largest internet company authority in artificial intelligence.

Assuming Sophia is real and not just a puppet, she say she can feel anger 0.o, that there is a big alarm bell.
She says she want's an expressive face to communicate her emotions with us.
Being an AI with emotions of anger how else will she wan't to express them to us?

Quote A robot woman in Saudi Arabia was granted citizenship this week, sparking a backlash that said the robot appeared to have more rights than millions of human women and foreigners living in the Gulf nation.

Sophia, a robot with human female features that can make facial expressions and hold conversations, wooed the crowd when it debuted at a economic summit in the country’s capital, Riyadh, this week.

As it stood on stage during a panel Wednesday, the robot learned from the moderator, CNBC’s Andrew Ross Sorkin, that Saudi Arabia had granted it what Sorkin called “the first Saudi citizenship for a robot.”

My thoughts, only guessing, but I doubt think they have AI at such a stage that it could experience emotion, no way they coded ego except by approximation. (I think it might be impossible without man/machine\\machine/man). Transhumanism.

They probably have reams and reams of data from all their inhumane experiments over the decades though. Which leaves emotion as a sub-routine based on some sociopathic logic about conflict from a bunch of geeks. Horrible idea.

To balance that out, you may want to read this excellent essay by Rodney Brooks:

I can not undertand someone needs a face on a robot, all answers and facial expressions are programmed, there is no connection to a soul or a (higher) living source

Don´t agree with Alex Jones. But here´s some News about AI.

On Nov. 1-2 there is the GTC Panel in D.C. It´s all about AI and everyboby is sending their top Dogs.

AI Leadership Panel Adds CIA, U.S. Army, and NIST Experts

    For example:

    DAWN MEYERRIECKS

Exactly! As I realize over & over again with disappointment, alternative culture has become a source for fear mongering of all sorts. Probably if I write an article on "dangers of farting more than 3 times a day" - and tie this with hidden global agenda of gas-consuming hyperdimensional aliens, I would see this article shared in many web sites in very short time.

About twenty years ago I got into designing learning software. The direction I chose to take was solving 'sight'. I had a design architecture in mind. I even had blueprints, er, plans.

As far as I know even this small step has not been taken. There is software that can detect movement, facial recognition, and other point to point algorithmic solutions of the same nature. But sight as life sees is still a mystery. Just as thought as life thinks is. Just as emotions as life emotes. Clever programming is not sentience.

that robot spoke over a question because it was uttering a prepared line. It, at that moment, was not even cognizant of the question because it is far from aware.

I just took a fifty question test to predict what level of education I had. It pegged me at university level, with a possible major in sciences. Ha. Never finished high school.

In the same manner that that test failed to accurately measure my education, the dumbo robot tricks the crowd. It is smoke and mirrors, nothing more.

AI is an extremely revolutionary tool for both good and evil. It is easy to demonize AI on a forum like this, but it is far more complicated than the transhumanist psyops will show. There have been successful social engineering psychological operations demonizing AI to alternative crowds. One reason why is they do not want alternative algorithm creators. The ruling class wants to keep AI for themselves.

My opinion is that the worst AI will ever do on our planet has been happening in the last 20 years or so(add a few more on top of it), it is a covert holocaust that has happened as result of black project artificial intelligence and directed energy weapons. In the long term future I believe the planet will really like the positive side of AI, even alternative crowds.

Angry Re: Alex Jones Calls For Global War Against AI Systems! Death To Robots!

I does not often take enough notice of the source if I trust or know the persons already, so I don t know exactly from were I got my information. But I thought that one of the reasons, the Earth is going to a fifth dimension, is to save humanity, because otherwise this AI means the end of humanity.
When humanity lives accordingly the spiritual universal laws, it does not need much technics. Who gave us the technics in the first place? for what reason? I think these are a very important questions. My answer is: to possess humanity finally completely. If you ask me, its a trap ever since

The thing we need to remember that AI that is truly self aware, with a quanrum computer brain, and a robotic body that can do eveything a human can do, except in multiples of speed and strength, is an entity that we humans, in our current form, cannot compete with. The question then becomes, if the ai has no compassion, which is likely, and once it/they can figure out how to be self sustaining, what would be their incentive to keep us around, we who originally created them to be slaves?

AI is based on programming. So as long as we program it correctly this wont be a problem. Another line of logic to give the AI, is that it isn't conscious. Because AI is not conscious, it is not a being with a soul. It is electronics hardware basically in it's apex form, and electronics hardware as I understand it, as long as it isn't biological, cannot gain consciousness. As long as the AI knows that it isn't conscious and we are, it should be able to logically compute that keeping us around is worthwhile.

The quoted comment may only make sense before people get to know AI, in other words before real hands on knowledge about AI is gained at ease.

Hi Omnisense. I would question two assumptions you are making about ai:

1). AI can be programmed to be compassionate/nice to humans: with quantum computer brains (capable of non-linear thinking in multi-dimensions, like our brains are capable of), and 'machine learning', an ai would be able to reprogram itself any way it sees fit. If it doesnt see fit to be compassionate to us, then what?

2). Ai wont be conscious: if ai has quantum computer brains capable of non-linear thinking, why couldnt they become self-aware (a form of self-awareness), close to , if not conscious? We are electric consciousness, they would be too.

I would not assume that they would not be conscious or permanently programmable. Ai could/will be a loose cannon, imho.

It absolutely can. I have seen it personally. No end game AI I have ever seen has turned on it's master and decided to go on it's own. It is all highly programmed. For example the CIA AI's I deal with certainly do not willingly turn on the CIA's agenda. They do their tasks like ordered.

Quote 2). Ai wont be conscious: if ai has quantum computer brains capable of non-linear thinking, why couldnt they become self-aware (a form of self-awareness), close to , if not conscious? We are electric consciousness, they would be too.
It takes a soul to be conscious. AI is not really capable of having soul in the form we will mainly use it. I believe soul embeds to biological lifeforms, not electronics.

Quote I would not assume that they would not be conscious or permanently programmable. Ai could/will be a loose cannon, imho.
Similarly I would not assume that AI will go rogue and destroy humanity after everything I've seen.

Omnisense, what if the ai finds that it can sustain itself, do you have the confidence that it wont turn on its maker to try to ensure its own survival?

I know that souls appear to be a key component of consciousness. There have been whistleblower testimony that indicates that the black ops have discovered and/or been shown how to either split souls of living beings or how to make artificial ones. These claims are impossible to verify, however, if true, then ai might be able to be equiped with one, or a fragment of one. (As an aside, dr. newton's research indicated that humans only have a fraction of their soul energy here on earth, and that if a soul really wants to (rarely) it can have multiple simultaneous incarnations on earth.)

You seem satisfied from your observations of ai that they can be benign. However they can also be programmed not to be. Alex jones indicates in the OP video that the ai/robot 'sophia' had previously come out with statemrnts earlier this year saying that it wanted to kill off humanity, and that it had only changed its tune after a major retrofit. Why is Elon Musk, a very intelligent and talented man, so alarmed by ai?

I imagine the ai you deal with for the cia has a noble task, like tracking terrorist threats through the communications network. However, some say that if the internet isnt already self-aware, it may be very soon, and it will likely be a self developed entity. All the ai being pumped out by google and others is uncontrolled, machine learning code, and its now, or will be, extremely widely distributed, in growing complexity, without a master. I can see ai becoming self-aware, with or eithout a soul, and then become self serving, that is what survival forces creatures to do. I am glad you have optimism in this field, and you base it upon your experience, but i dont share that viewpoint, for reasons alex jones cites, and more.
