US aircraft have targeted drug producing facilities in Afghanistan for the first time under a new strategy aimed at cutting off Taliban funding, AP reported, citing the top US general in the country. Gen. John Nicholson said Monday the raids, involving an F-22 bomber, were carried out Sunday in the southern Helmand province, as part of the strategy unveiled by President Donald Trump in August.

the "problem" is drug use & the crime that surrounds it, or is it?

I think the problem is prohibition, instead of fire-bombing, we should legalize all narcotics and spend our "drug war" money on good education and treatment for those with addiction issues.

"destroying drugs" is a part of the predicted Reaction which has been coaxed and guided for decades now... we need to break from the cycle; and it seems the best way to achieve that break is to cease all prohibitionist behaviors.... the only reason these plants are "worth" so much money is due to prohibition, take that away and the issue becomes one of health, not funding black ops and filling prisons.
