That google earth image has floated around for a while. But it's worth considering that sometimes these google earth images can be deceptive.

From another angle:



It still may or may not be something. But it could be just artefacts from shading and post-processing that give the impression of 'pillars' holding up a roof. Who knows.

Personally, if I were installing a secret base under the ocean, I'd be sure to hide it a lot better than this.

Curious... what/why would a US Department of Commerce aircraft be doing out there and those maneuvers? (ie are they normally involved in search & rescue?? It certainly has done a lot of circling in that top right track position & at minimal altitude = 600 ft & minimal airspeed = 87 kts (that's barely above it's stalling speed of around 58 kts)??? )
