Sorry to hear....thanks for the heads up DNA....

Art made a huge impact to me initially when i was in download phase eating everything and anything up. I was hungry and he provided a massive download on all sorts of subjects and teachers. I have alot of those 1990s archives. 2 of my faves were Terrance McKenna's 1997 and 98 interviews. They had such a great re-pore with each other. I have put a video with segments from both shows in my doco series and as a separate short clip on my YouTube channel on the Clarity gained from exploring things. His ability to tune into his guest and relate with a totally non assumption interfering approach to provide his perspectives while allowing his guest to really share their perspectives was a gift to me. He was a genius and hard worker.

I also really appreciated his taste in music also. Had great breaks.

There was a really impressive Country Music track he played that sums him up to me - The Highwaymen - Highway man (below). It is alll about reincarnation, past lives and the last verse is about being a star ship captain sailing the universe.....it was really profound to me when i heard it. Country singers (really great ones) singing about this....totally summed a lot up about existence and Art to me in that really raw time for me where i was at. Really listen to their lyrics...it is a beautiful song. I am not a huge fan of country but this is timeless to me.

So, thank you for your service Art. To me and humanity in a very challenging time forging new roads of truth for us all. Enjoy those future highways you choose to travel.

    Cheers

I never had the privilege of being under his influence, but I do know that he took 7 hours to get the full story of David Adair's experiences! That was an amazing contribution to our store of knowledge! There are so many who have added to our collective knowledge. We thank them all!!

Sharon Wehrly, Nye County Sheriff, said that Bell passed away on April 13, 2018, adding that he was “best known for his conspiracy theories.”

How did Bell die? That’s unknown, at least for now. He is scheduled for an autopsy later this week to determine the cause of death and was 72-years-old, the sheriff said in a videotaped press announcement.

Art Bell was part of my progression. I have only recently found his broadcasts on the net and have learned much. Mr Bells influence cannot be overstated and his talks with John Lear were always worth a second listen . Said it how it was and was Jedi of the highest order .

"The Nye County Sherrif was asked to NOT announce Art's passing by his wife, until an appropriate time.

"Airyn did not want the media exposure until she was ready. In fact some family members were not even notified.

"Why would Nye County Sherrif publicize Art's passing until the family was ready? They are a disgrace to the community and an assault to privacy.

" Those of us in Art's inner circle had a plan to inform the family and fans of Art's passing in an appropriate manner, and they took this away from us.

" Shame on Nye county sheriff department.

"We will have official statements and more information soon on MidnightInTheDesert.com and this Facebook page."

"I am now home after five days in what must be one of the greatest hospitals in the world, St Rose. I am not in good shape, so weak I cannot dress myself.

"I want to publicly thank my wife Airyn who never left my side and helped every moment day and night and still is.

"I went through every test known to man. Had a hole punched in my lung, MRI, PET scans, X-Rays, more blood tests then could be counted, was on Morphine the whole time.

"Had so many IVs running it started to get hard to find a vein.

"If I make it I will have the best wife in the world to thank as well as the best hospital.

I discovered 'Coast' in my early 20's. Totally by luck. I had this small, red clock radio..and I was scrolling the dial to find a channel that came in clearly. I had no intent to listen to anything; I was setting my alarm and didn't want to wake up to static or that annoying alarm noise.

And I just happened upon 'Coast'. Art Bell's voice came over, and WOW..what a revelation! Pure magic. I was hooked.

Back then there wasn't much in the way of internet. I got all my info by going to Barnes and Noble and camping out in the "new age" section. But now I had this amazing show 'Coast to Coast', and this amazing host Art Bell to talk me to sleep most nights. Wow, what a treat!

I didn't sleep well back then. I spent countless late nights with my back propped up against the back of my bed, a beer in my hand, and the radio tuned in to Coast and Art. The old clock radio didn't always get a clear signal. It was kind of hit or miss. But when the signal was clear, and Art was hosting, I felt very lucky indeed.

Thanks for everything Art! Godspeed my friend.

Art Bell accompanied myself and my husband on our move to Idaho back in the spring of 2003. We were coming from the Portland/Vancouver metro area in the dead of night all strapped in for an 8 hour drive. Ever driven through the Gorge aka I/84 corridor at night? It's pitch black and there's nothing to do, the perfect setting for 'out there' topics...I flipped on the radio looking for something interesting to entertain my wandering mind and there was Art Bell waiting for us. I wish I could remember who the exact guest was, but the topic was, yes you guessed it, UFO's. This was my first introduction into the alternative community; Art's show was riveting and I couldn't believe what I was hearing, I was hooked! Thank you Art, wish I would have found you sooner, can't wait to see what you'll be up to in the next life!

Edit to Add: Looks like we posted about the same time Mike...lol...we both used the term 'hooked'...glad you felt the same!

Although Greg Bishop is the guy who first gave me a public audience, I was on the old Saturday night C2C show back in 2006. I never got to meet Art (I was on with Ian) but his legacy will always be a very memorable part of my experience. I first started listening to Art regularly in '99 and it was the Mel's Hole topic that drew me to the show. He was a natural.

Yes indeed. He was probably the very best on radio that we've known.

I, too, found his woo woo quite by accident and was hooked. I often wished he was on in prime hours because late night was hard sometimes. My boyfriend listens to him every night on the way to work at that hour and we often discuss some tidbit or another the next day, from the show he had heard the night before. I always had a sense of relief that all the out there stuff we know to be real, was being shared on a huge basis. It made me feel less alone.

ART BELL DIES ON FRIDAY THE 13TH?

Yes Art was the most educated, intelligent, listenable and compelling professional interviewer the alternative world has yet ever produced.

But, if we're really a community committed to truth whatever the cost, I can say I took off my rose colored glasses a long time ago with Mr. Bell.

The cost of truth regarding former Air Force medic Art Bell born into a Marine military family is that it appears he was also a gatekeeper obeying orders. I'm not alone in having noticed a lot of clues.

The first wake up call to me was after 9-11. Of course he was technologically smart enough to know what the huge anomalies were regarding 9-11, but he relentlessly pretended to buy the official hijacker narrative about 9-11, refused to feature any of the popular guests on the speaking circuit that challenged the official narrative and fiercely avoided the subject as much as he could. There were technological subjects galore - his favorite field - regarding 9-11 that he ignored.

Additionally, he pretended to take seriously numerous charlatan guests and made them the most frequent guests like Sean David Morton, Ed Dames and Rosemary Guiley planting BS galore.

I see him as quite knowingly having walked a razor sharp line his whole career, loving what he did and truly interested, but only pushing it as far as he was allowed.

Also, funny how his 3rd/47 year old wife conveniently died in his bed shortly before 60 year old Art and a close friend married young sisters they hardly knew in a double ceremony in the Phillipines, for Art his 4th way-younger wife, this one '21'. Many questions surround his personal life official story, I don't feel like glorifying any man with these kinds of red flags.

Lastly, Art started up a new syndicated "Midnight In the Desert' independently in 2015 with one major advertiser - Allan Greenspan - one of the deepest cabal criminals responsible for the continued financial raping of the United States while head of the Federal Reserve! Art's comeback didn't even last a month, supposedly quitting due to a shooter trespassing on his Pahrump property.

There is more dubious history and lawsuits, but it all leaves me with the question, what role did Mr. Bell play in planting concepts that the controlled opposition wanted planted in the early stages of the alternative/'conspiracy' world they were orchestrating?

Yes, there are a few unanswered questions.

But right now, I'd prefer to honor him here, as he truly did awaken literally millions of people who listened to him avidly on Coast to Coast AM every night.

That was long before a far greater degree of controlled opposition (George Noory ) sold out to big media, and under his stewardship what was once Art Bell's flagship has very largely slid and sunk into a lightweight, far less important, paranormal entertainment show designed only to steer listeners away from important issues.

Hey Art just got put on the front page of Fox News:

    http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment...ies-at-72.html

Art Bell, whose 'Coast to Coast AM' radio show reveled in the paranormal, dies at 72

Radio host Art Bell, famous for his show “Coast to Coast AM” and its "X-Files"-flavored focus on the paranormal, died Friday at the age of 72, Nevada authorities confirmed Saturday.

Bell died at his Pahrump, Nev., home, Nye County Sheriff Sharon Wehrly announced in a Facebook post to the community. She described him as a “longtime resident” of the area and said an autopsy to confirm the cause of death would be performed later this week.

“Coast to Coast AM” confirmed the news on Twitter, saying its staff was "profoundly saddened with the news that the creator and original host of Coast to Coast AM, Art Bell, has passed away at the age of 72."

According to an obituary shared by the program, the show became syndicated across the country in 1993 and drew in listeners with its wee-hours chatter about conspiracy theories and aliens, shadow people and spectral energy.

The obituary said that as Bell “begins his journey on the ‘Other Side,’ we take solace in the hope that he is now finding out all of the answers to the mysteries he pursued for so many nights with all of us.”

Even after relinquishing his title as host in the early 2000s, Bell returned to the airwaves now and then, and he also started a show for satellite radio, the obituary said.

Before “Coast to Coast AM” began, Bell, who was born in 1945, was in the Air Force during the Vietnam War and there he “indulged his childhood passion for radio by operating a pirate radio station,” according to the obituary.

The show tweeted a comment from its current host, George Noory, who described Bell as “a legend – a radio icon who went against the grain and developed an amazing show called 'Coast to Coast AM.' His impact on my life is beyond words. He will be missed, but I know he is now on another journey.”

Bell broadcast “Coast to Coast" from his radio station, KNYE, in Pahrump.

During Bell’s National Radio Hall of Fame induction in 2008, his former business partner, Alan Corbeth, said no one was better than Bell at understanding “how to create theater of the mind.”

Right, I'd prefer to honor him here too

There are certainly some valid points in Waves post, and I'd be interested in fleshing them out, but perhaps that's for another thread.

I'm not blind to the man's shortcomings (nor are most of the members here, I'm sure. Art once interviewed this phony shaman who claimed to know "the real donjuan" , from the Castaneda material. Art seemed to be buying it all hook, line n sinker. I had so much respect for Art that i began taking it seriously myself! I listened and then excitedly msg'd Marcus (DNA) and told him about it, and he told me the most hilarious - and slightly disturbing - first hand story about this bogus shaman. OMG. Art's been fooled more than once....but then again, so have I!)

I rarely listen to Coast anymore, either. But those early days with Art and Coast were a great adventure for many of us, and the man certainly deserves quite a bit of credit.

Nobody's a saint. Not even a saint. Art started Coast to Coast and at least was willing to approach the weird when it wasn't cool.

I've been fooled more than once or twice Mike and been confused on all levels a lot, too.

All story's have value. You don't have to buy them all hook line and sinker.
