Megaquake strikes west Pacific, deep activity to spread

A couple of brief comments.

His new presentation here actually begins at 34:31.
He's saying (as best as I'm able to summarize) that an 8.2 that's SO deep is unprecedented, and that to convert this to the equivalent near the surface you'd need to add an additional 1.1 (= 9.3). So what's happened is very major, and the whole ring of fire will be reverberating from this for the next 7-10 days. That's exactly what seems to be happening already.
