Thanks for posting this, Star Tsar. I met Rob at the Paradigm Shift Summit in Australia a couple of years ago. One of the guys who works with him lives in my small hometown. I was taken aback by the coincidence of running into him there—so far from home. I’d also been wondering when their film was coming out so I appreciate your post.

The full moon of September, called the Harvest Moon, will grace the skies Sept. 24-25, just two days after the autumn equinox.

Depending on your time zone, the September equinox comes on September 22 or 23. And the September full moon comes on the night of September 24-25 for the Americas.

What is a Harvest Moon? In skylore, the Harvest Moon is the full moon closest to the autumn equinox.

Harvest Moon is just a name. But this full moon does have special characteristics, related to the time of moonrise. Nature is particularly cooperative in giving us full-looking moons near the horizon after sunset, for several evenings in a row, around the time of the Harvest Moon.

NASA’s newest planet hunter, the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS), is now providing valuable data to help scientists discover and study exciting new exoplanets, or planets beyond our solar system. Part of the data from TESS’ initial science orbit includes a detailed picture of the southern sky taken with all four of the spacecraft’s wide-field cameras. This “first light” science image captures a wealth of stars and other objects, including systems previously known to have exoplanets.
