Default Top Model says sun lotion is poison

It's poison: Gisele Bundchen angers cancer experts by saying people shouldn't wear sun lotion.

I've been saying the same thing for years. It wasn't till I started listening to that "sun is bad for you, sun block is good' propaganda when I was in my early 30's and started using it and got a lethal melanoma on my shoulder. Never again. I check any form of makeup or body lotion for sun block too. It's insidiously snuck into cosmetics and body care products.

    Great post.
Have always thought it strange, when sun creams were introduced on mass with the slogans attached to protect the skin, how everyone jumped on this and didn't and still don't look into what it is they are rubbing into their bodies!
I'm not saying don't put anything on, just don't use something because the big boys who make this stuff say its ok.

    much love

Some pain killers have been pulled out of regular sales here because they interact with cosmetics that have sun blocking agents in it and cause bad health effects when consumed with those cosmetics. You can get Ketonal and Voltaren only on perscription and doctors warning about these effects.

My kid's day care demands that we use sunscreen on our kids during summer, all other parents do it except me and only my kid doesn't have sun burns and weird skin coloring that others have. So I think it's enough evidence that it's not good to use.

I'm not a big fan of web bot but I read everything so when I read this last report and saw it has a meme of [bad cosmetics] causing women to have scars such as it becomes fashionable to have head and face tatoos due to heavy damaging....it's enough for me to be extra alert.
Who knows what's in chemtrails and cosmetics that will ultimately react badly with our bodies!

Agreed. Judicious sun exposure is good for you. Know thyself, with regard to your skin type.

She makes an excellent point of sunning herself in the morning hours, for her skin type.

My wife and I get as much sun as we can up here in Scotland and we also take D3 during the winter. We are always carefull about what we put in and on our bodies and I believe we are a lot healthier for it. The only downside is that its not cheap, the organic all natural stuff is hard to find and expensive.

For what it is worth I have never used any lotion to protect myself from the sun my view has always been that the sun is good for us but like all things caution is advised - my advice: full exposure in short doses and choose your time of day ...

Save for the brief incident (I still have the mark on my shoulder) I've never used sun block and I'm out in the sun always since I was a child. My mother started warning me about wrinkles when I was five!

Common every day people take it upon themselves to self police your sun use. "I just have to tell you in another ten years when your 40 you'll look like a piece of leather.".

Well I just have to tell you I'm 45 so I'm not sure where you're advice holds water.

Granted on has to accomadate one's skin tone.

The media advertising first appeals to your sense of vanity. Wrinkles and sunspots.. Then they will appeal to a deeper fear ...cancer etc.

I had an aunt that ritually began laying in the sun always on March 31st and didn't stop until Oct 31st. She said she was stocking up. Granted I think a lot of her color came from wind burn (lol) but she claimed it was the only thing that would keep her chronic depression at bay. She was the happiest person I ever met. Her idea of heaven was a Mai Tai and a lounge chair and some UV rays. Not a bad way to live me thinks.

I love the sun and dont use sun block -- which is just as well BECAUSE they put Nanoparticles - some just to make it transparent - AND they dont even have to tell anyone they are there.
    Tons on goog search e.g.

that seems to me the reason they are doing chemtrails , to prevent us getting enough sun ...vitamin D is synthesised in the body in reaction to the suns rays and an absence of it hheightens depression among other things

funny they said the sun was bad and caused cancer and sure enough even when people started using sunscreens many still got skin cancers

Sunblock is no good to me anyways, I am that pale I burn in a full moon.
Believe it or not, I got sunburn poisoning when I was about 8 or 9 whilst wearing a t shirt.

i never used them..luckily, my skin develops melanine production in almost no time, so thare was no doubt in my mind about what caused a ferocious skin rash the only time i wacked it on ...my skin reacted as quickly as some 3-4 hours afterwards at exactly the area where i applied the nasty concoction - neck and torso..

it's all chemicals my skin said no to and i don't have to know what they are to never touch that fancy tube again...moderation is the best protection

i don't remember where i read it, but apparently drinking black coffeee, also eating more peaches and apricots boost the production of melanine in your body - which IS what you need during the time of prolonged sun exposure.. l

There are also serious concerns about the nanoparticles of titanium dioxide in sunscreens, which can penetrate through the skin and affect distant organs. They have been found to "stress brain cells" and may even cause lung damage similar to asbestosis.

For decades, irresponsible cosmetic companies and a small group of very vocal, publicity-seeking dermatologists have strongly advocated that chemical sunscreens should be heavily applied before any exposure to sunlight, even on young children.
They insisted that such sunscreen use would prevent skin cancer and protect your health.
This was despite of a lack of any adequate safety testing of these chemicals. (It should be emphasized that most dermatologists are much more cautious and careful.)

On the other hand, over the past decade, many scientists studying cancer have come to virtually the opposite conclusion; that is, the use of sunscreen chemicals may be increasing the incidence of cancer and that sunlight exposure may actually decrease human cancer rates and improve your health.

It now appears that many heavily-used chemical sunscreens may actually increase cancers by virtue of their free radical generating properties.
And more insidiously, many commonly used sunscreen chemicals have strong estrogenic actions that may cause serious problems in sexual development and adult sexual function, and may further increase cancer risks.

desperately searches this desolate landscape for those elusive wisps of lavender....
wafting in the gentle summer breeze....
through the dancing curtains obscuring the veranda,
    in the fading sunset....

Thanks Gisele you are my type of girl
The ingredients of sun lotions make me wonder what effects all those chemicals have when they are on the skin and are ingested into the body.
I think the sun is a good healer and brings life to the world - and its solar panels!
Too much of a good thing is bad- everything should be enjoyed in moderation and balance
The sun gives us flowers, plants and trees and we would do well to appreciate it as they do
