Ha. Back in 2013, I was driving through Cuenca in Pandora (my ancient 4x4) with three friends. We pulled up at a red light, right alongside a man walking down the sidewalk with a puppy on his shoulder. I made a joke — "Hey look! There's our dog!" — and next thing I knew, my friends had gathered together $40, opened the window, the guy took the cash, the puppy was handed through the window, the light turned green, and now there were 5 of us in the vehicle, not 4. It must have all taken 30 seconds flat.

And... here she is as a tiny puppy. You may understand why my friends gathered together the $40 in 10 seconds flat. This was taken literally a couple of minutes after we found her.



The miracle of growth: 5 years on, she may be one of the strongest mountain dogs on the whole planet.
