There is a tendency to believe that the 'web' and 'artificial intelligence' are modern day manifestations of human ingenuity but what if their origin is of a different nature and agenda? Is it really all that far out there to be probable?

I don't find that implausible. Even humans themselves were created or at least modified by something nonhuman.

Is God a computer programmer and can these AI's be "his" creation or are they something else? Is life anything else but code?
