Is anyone having non stop difficult , antagonistic and contentious e mails, texts and so on?

thanks Mashika/ of course , all our situtions and experiences are different. Perhaps what i didnt explain well is in my experience recently, things that were always working fine for years , such as my text and e mail communications , were of recent no longer effortless. As if it all of it lost its clarity and usefullness in my circle of communication. Is it the time we are living or just a bad patch I have hit with my circle of friends? Just seems like a modern day Tower of Babel where we are all are talking a different language.

We are a bit different in age and so it may have something to do with that as well. anyway, Im glad your communications are going well

You are actually very clear in what you wanted to say, i think i was lacking on what i tried to explain. What i wanted to say is this

Is not technology because as you said, it has been around and being used for a long time. So it's either pushing this tech to replace something else or simply people getting angry in a lot of ways and showing it through any form of communication

I think text and email are very much lacking in allowing people to REALLY communicate other than sending work emails and invitations and such, it is not meant as a casual chat environment and it will never be. And it leads to this kind of problems

The tech has reached its limit, people outgrew it but they still try to get something impossible out of it, like smileys to say something instead of using a video call to just say the same thing, all by the same cost and less time it takes to write an email. Do you see what i mean?

At this time, just do the call, people did call a lot in the past 100 years didn't they? Email and text messages are useless in that aspect, say "i need a call to discuss this thing about project x", but don't say "project x has a problem because yyy made a commit of 200 files and has completely overwritten xx person's changes and now person xx is no longer working for us and we don't have a copy of his work and blah blah blah"

See? Just call and it's done, if yyy messed up don't send an email to ask why, call or video call and figure it out at the moment. An email reply may not come at all, or come too late, or cross over your other wall-of-text-reply

And phone calls have been around since forever so is not really the problem. It's more like people focused on trying to get something out of a technology that maybe wasn't mean to be used like that?

I don't know, i just meant to say that written letters have been around for centuries, and phone calls for more than a century now, and the problem was not around back then? Or is just how the communication medium is used? And about typos.. well if you are going to fail at grammar, as i do a lot it could also happen on a written letter sent through post office, doesn't it? That's more like an education problem than what medium you use to communicate

Anyways i would just jump into a phone call or a video call as soon as something feels wrong with an email or text, it's faster to reach an understanding if you are looking at the face of the other person or at least hearing their voice

Good point about the letters. Some people elevated it into an art form, writing letters that contained whole books, filled with emotion and life of its own. Nowadays people´s writing skills aren´t well developed to communicate anything deep and emotional, I guess?

Here a quote from infamous Henry Miller, not adapted to modern mediums of course:
