I now know why Donald Trump has been quiet between his first and last video message. He was busy trying to get an account on Parler!
That's what kept coming up for me, too. "It doesn't exist." and to create an account. I've bookmarked a couple of people on Parler. The company must be off-line because this is what's coming up:

Yes, this came up twice for me as well. I guess they are under attack, which was to be expected.

It seems the deep state is desparate now. This censorship is going to make a lot of people, who are not necessarily Trump advocates, but are just liberals in the true sense of the word, feel very uncomfortable, to put it mildly. These are Stalinistic measures. When you try to block the president from speaking to the people, you are undeniably in the act of a coup d’état.

UPDATE THE UPDATE it's off again but at least people will have the links above when it comes back up.

The shennanigans with Parler is making the controlled opposition seem legitimate, in my opinion. Aside from what I already said, I will only add that I have a bad feeling about it.

Once they succeeded in ending democracy and turning Germany into a one-party dictatorship, the Nazis orchestrated a massive propaganda campaign to win the loyalty and cooperation of Germans. The Nazi Propaganda Ministry, directed by Dr. Joseph Goebbels, took control of all forms of communication in Germany: newspapers, magazines, books, public meetings, and rallies, art, music, movies, and radio. Viewpoints in any way threatening to Nazi beliefs or to the regime were censored or eliminated from all media.

During the spring of 1933, Nazi student organizations, professors, and librarians made up long lists of books they thought should not be read by Germans. Then, on the night of May 10, 1933, Nazis raided libraries and bookstores across Germany. They marched by torchlight in nighttime parades, sang chants, and threw books into huge bonfires. On that night more than 25,000 books were burned. Some were works of Jewish writers, including Albert Einstein and Sigmund Freud. Most of the books were by non-Jewish writers, including such famous Americans as Jack London, Ernest Hemingway, and Upton Sinclair, whose ideas the Nazis viewed as different from their own and therefore not to be read.

The Nazi censors also burned the books of Helen Keller, who had overcome her deafness and blindness to become a respected writer; told of the book burnings, she responded: "Tyranny cannot defeat the power of ideas." Hundreds of thousands of people in the United States protested the book burnings, a clear violation of freedom of speech, in public rallies in New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, and St. Louis.

Schools also played an important role in spreading Nazi ideas. While some books were removed from classrooms by censors, other textbooks, newly written, were brought in to teach students blind obedience to the party, love for Hitler, and antisemitism. After-school meetings of the Hitler Youth and the League of German Girls trained children to be faithful to the Nazi Party. In school and out, young people celebrated such occasions as Adolf Hitler's birthday and the anniversary of his taking power.

Joseph Goebbels disrupts premiere of film
In Berlin, Joseph Goebbels, one of Adolf Hitler’s top deputies, and Storm Troopers (SA) disrupt the premiere of "All Quiet on the Western Front," a film based on the novel of the same title by Erich Maria Remarque. Nazi protestors throw smoke bombs and sneezing powder to halt the film. Members of the audience who protest the disruption are beaten. The novel had always been unpopular with the Nazis, who believed that its depiction of the cruelty and absurdity of war was "un-German." Ultimately, the film will be banned. Remarque will emigrate to Switzerland in 1931, and the Nazis, after coming to power, will revoke his German citizenship in 1938.

Joseph Goebbels heads Reich Propaganda Ministry
Joseph Goebbels, one of Adolf Hitler's most trusted associates, is appointed to head the Reich Ministry for Popular Enlightenment and Propaganda. This agency controls the writing and broadcast of all media (newspapers, radio programs, and movies) as well as public entertainment and cultural programs (theater, art, and music). Goebbels integrates Nazi racism and ideas into the media.

Joseph Goebbels speaks at book burning in Berlin
Forty thousand people gather to hear German propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels speak in Berlin's Opera Square. Goebbels condemns works written by Jews, liberals, leftists, pacifists, foreigners, and others as "un-German." Nazi students begin burning books. Libraries across Germany are purged of "censored" books. Goebbels proclaims the "cleansing of the German spirit."

    Reddit Bans Subreddit Group “r/DonaldTrump”
    January 8, 2021
    article
Reddit has banned the subreddit group "r/DonaldTrump," a spokesperson confirmed to Axios.

Why it matters: While not an official group or page hosted by the president, it's one of the company's largest political communities dedicated to support for President Trump.

What they're saying: "Reddit's site-wide policies prohibit content that promotes hate, or encourages, glorifies, incites, or calls for violence against groups of people or individuals. In accordance with this, we have been proactively reaching out to moderators to remind them of our policies and to offer support or resources as needed," a spokesperson tells Axios.
"We have also taken action to ban the community r/donaldtrump given repeated policy violations in recent days regarding the violence at the U.S. Capitol.”
The big picture: It's the latest in a string of platforms to take action against Trump's accounts following the historic pro-Trump riot at the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday.
    • Twitch and Snapchat disabled Trump's accounts.
    • Shopify took down two online stores affiliated with the president.
    • Facebook and Instagram banned Trump from posting for at least the next two weeks, and faced calls to boot him permanently, including from former First Lady Michelle Obama and high-ranking Hill Democrats.
    • Twitter froze Trump out of his account Wednesday before reinstating him Thursday once he deleted problematic tweets.
    • YouTube says it's accelerating its enforcement of voter fraud claims against President Trump and others based on Wednesday's events.
    • TikTok is removing content violations and redirecting hashtags like #stormthecapitol and #patriotparty to its community guidelines.
Flashback: Reddit over the summer banned the controversial subreddit channel r/The_Donald, one of the company's largest political communities and a longstanding hub of support for President Trump, along with 2,000 other subreddit groups and users that violated new content policies aimed at hate speech.

That's because he/they uploads them on to the YouTube platform and YouTube kicked them off a couple of hours ago. An alternative site is podbay.fm. It's audio only. Here's the link to Bannon-war-room.

Trump Responds to Twitter’s Permanent Account Suspension

BY MIMI NGUYEN LY January 8, 2021 Updated: January 8, 2021

President Donald Trump responded to Twitter’s move to permanently suspend his account from its platform late Friday, condemning the big tech giant and saying that it does not stand for free speech.

“As I have been saying for a long time, Twitter has gone further and further in banning free speech, and tonight, Twitter employees have coordinated with the Democrats and the Radical Left in removing my account from their platform, to silence me—and YOU, the 75,000,000 great patriots who voted for me,” Trump said in a statement

“Twitter may be a private company, but without the government’s gift of Section 230 they would not exist for long,” he added.

“Twitter may be a private company, but without the government’s gift of Section 230 they would not exist for long,” he added.

The president said he anticipates a “big announcement” soon and that this team is negotiating with various other sites” and is also looking at building a separate platform.

“I predicted this would happen. We have been negotiating with various other sites, and will have a big announcement soon, while we also look at the possibilities of building out our own platform in the near future. We will not be SILENCED!” he said.

“Twitter is not about FREE SPEECH. They are all about promoting a Radical Left platform where some of the most vicious people in the world are allowed to speak freely,” Trump continued. “STAY TUNED!”

The statement came out from the account @POTUS but the Twitter posts were gone within a few minutes.

Twitter late on Friday permanently suspended Trump’s Twitter account @realDonaldTrump, citing violation of its “Glorification of Violence” policy. It cited two of the president’s most recent posts as justification for its action.

Subsequently, the president posted, “To all of those who have asked, I will not be going to the Inauguration on January 20th.” This was the last Twitter post before Trump’s account was removed from the platform.

Twitter said that the two posts had violated its “Glorification of Violence policy,” which aims to “prevent the glorification of violence that could inspire others to replicate violent acts.”

Its assessment determined that Trump’s last two Twitter posts “highly likely to encourage and inspire people to replicate the criminal acts that took place at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.” Twitter said its determination is “based on a number of factors,” including five points it listed in its statement.

The White House and the president have both separately condemned the violence that broke out on Capitol grounds on Jan. 6, when lawmakers gathered for a joint session of Congress to count and certify electoral votes from the Nov. 3, 2020 election. The events of the day left at least five dead, three of whom died due to medical reasons, according to DC police.

The Epoch Times cannot independently verify the claims made by Twitter in its determination. The Epoch Times has reached out to Twitter asking whether it had any evidence that Trump’s statements were directly linked to any violence. Twitter did not immediately respond.

Earlier in the day, Twitter suspended the accounts of former national security adviser Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn and lawyer Sidney Powell, citing “Coordinated Harmful Activity.” Powell told The Epoch Times that there “was no warning at all” about her account being deleted.

The account deletions suggest that big tech firms, including Twitter, are moving suspend or penalize the accounts of people on their platforms who post claims of voter fraud and irregularities about the Nov. 3, 2020 election.

There have also been multiple claims by various Twitter accounts of having lost followers, sometimes in the thousands, within the past 24 hours.

Brandon Straka, the head of the conservative WalkAway movement, told The Epoch Times Friday that Facebook removed the group’s page and banned individual accounts belonging to the team.

What I have never understood is why Donald Trump used twitter as his official mouthpiece? Use someones elses private system for your offical messages as POTUS!

Seems lazy to have done so, and always with the risk of the whims of a someones elses rules.

Why did he not have his own messaging, blog, sms site etc - that he had full control over, and just share his comments from there to Social Media.

Well, in order to do so, he would have had to rely on Silicon Valley big tech, CIA, NSA, etc... which all his maneuvers (if, indeed, maneuvers they were) have shown to be treasonous or, to the least, very unreliable; all the way up to his - so-called - "aides."

Many use Twitter, so President Trump set up an account it as do many professionals. IIRC there was talk about six months ago that President Trump may set up his own TV or radio station. This was supposedly after he leaves office.

There’s a website donaldjtrump.com. Though, it doesn’t come up for me as I post this. Pages like events & media work, the YouTube and Facebook accounts are functional. For how long?

The Library of Congress has a list of President Trump’s sites. As of January 8th many of them are no longer available. Which goes to your point. As President of the United State, he should be able to speak to us directly and at a moments notice. Big tech, news papers, magazines have hardly been fair, impartial sources.
"…the President is authorized, if he finds it necessary for the national defense and security, to direct that such communications as in his judgment may be essential to the national defense and security shall have preference or priority with any carrier subject to this chapter….”
    As a last line of defense, there’s 47 U.S. Code § 606 - War powers of President.

    snippet:
    (a) Priority communications
During the continuance of a war in which the United States is engaged, the President is authorized, if he finds it necessary for the national defense and security, to direct that such communications as in his judgment may be essential to the national defense and security shall have preference or priority with any carrier subject to this chapter. He may give these directions at and for such times as he may determine, and may modify, change, suspend, or annul them and for any such purpose he is authorized to issue orders directly, or through such person or persons as he designates for the purpose, or through the Commission. Any carrier complying with any such order or direction for preference or priority herein authorized shall be exempt from any and all provisions in existing law imposing civil or criminal penalties, obligations, or liabilities upon carriers by reason of giving preference or priority in compliance with such order or direction.

He was not short of a penny by all accounts - would not have cost much to have his own website hosted outside of the USA, even have his own Service Provider.
Hehe, he could have called it TRUMPnET :D

You're still dependent upon the company where you host your website. There's a lot of fine print in the conditions agreement.

    Love the TRUMPnET idea.

Mozilla says ‘deplatforming’ Trump isn't enough, wants to shield internet from ‘bad actors’ as users uninstall Firefox in disgust

Mozilla, developer of the Firefox internet browser, has argued that more must be done to keep Donald Trump and other “bad actors” out of cyberspace, prompting many to vow to never use the group’s services again.

In a blog post titled ‘We need more than deplatforming’, the open-source software community said that Twitter’s decision to permanently ban Trump from its platform didn’t go far enough in weeding out “hate” on the internet. While blaming Trump for the “siege and take-over” of the US Capitol on January 6, the non-profit tech group argued that “white supremacy is about more than any one personality.”
“We need solutions that don’t start after untold damage has been done.Changing these dangerous dynamics requires more than just the temporary silencing or permanent removal of bad actors from social media platforms,” Mozilla wrote.
The group proposed a number of measures to help protect the internet from verboten views. Internet ads should list who paid for them, how much they are paying, and who is being targeted, Mozilla said. There should also be “meaningful transparency” of platform algorithms so that people can examine what kind of content is being promoted.

The group also demanded that “tools to amplify factual voices over disinformation” are added to the default settings of internet platforms, and said that independent research must be carried out to determine how social media is affecting society and what can be done to “improve things.”

The blog post concluded by stating that the answer to Trump and other allegedly bad voices was not to “do away with the internet,” but rather to “build a better one” that can “withstand” such “challenges.”

Mozilla tweeted the statement, claiming that the unrest at the Capitol was the “culmination of a four-year disinformation campaign orchestrated by the President.”
The statement was not particularly well received on social media, however. Many Twitter users said they would no longer use Firefox, as a protest against Mozilla’s unvarnished political posturing.

Others argued that the statement was a clear example of how “Big Tech” is able to control “the narrative.”
“You quieted voices you didn’t like until violence occurred. Now you’re using the violence as justification to completely purge those voices,” noted one reply.
Similarly unimpressed observers urged Mozilla to focus on fixing its browser, rather than diving into politics.

But many others rallied around the organization’s call.

A supporter told Mozilla that it has a “big voice on this subject” and expressed hope that the group was doing all it could during this “big moment.”

Trump was booted off Twitter on Friday, prompting both applause and jeers. The US president denounced the “Radical Left” for silencing him and has vowed to move to a new platform, even suggesting that he could make his own.

So, he has not been "blocked from speaking to the people" by Twitter in his role as POTUS???

I checked that account a few days ago, and much of the content has been removed.
