Default Would you work for an alphabet agency?

If you were approached or contacted by an alphabet agency would you consider working with them? Keep it down to Earth, I don't mean talking with aliens at Area 51 or secretive space missions to other planets. I'm speaking of more traditional intel gathering types of jobs.

On one hand you may be working a job where you don't agree with methodologies used to perform your tasks, but on the other you may discover that the job must get done and the alternative to performing these tasks would be much worse. It's almost a catch 22. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

You will have to live a lie and sign a lifetime NDA. It's a tough call, what say you?

Keep in mind there are some folks who leak info or flat out write books, like John Perkins. Maybe you know someone who's been in these circles? They don't answer questions when asked but will occasionally drop a crumb for you and watch to see if you pick it up. These folks can sound the horn to show you the way through the fog if you pay attention and you could potentially help others in the same way.

There's a rapper Immortal Technique who once said,
"The problem with always being a conformist is that when you try
To change the system from within, it's not you who changes the system
It's the system that will eventually change you"

I'm not sure I believe that but it's something I think about.

No, I would not. I went to a "throwaway interview" with the CIA in the 1980s, and found out that you have to inform them about your activities for 4 years after quitting if you decide you don't want to work there afterwards.

I was approached by contractors for NSA about working for them (not the NSA itself) in the 2000s. The lure was "all those wonderful toys". I was promised my own supercomputer cluster off hours, lots of fancy graphics equipment and all sorts of base software, a fantastic salary, free reign for my ideas. I was so disappointed. You see, I had just pitched a proposal for research funding or for start up to a whole bunch of people, and as those not interested dwindled away, I didn't notice that after a while all that were talking to me were spook company reps. Nobody had liked my ideas but the spooks, and that felt like a huge rejection.

There are some good reasons to say no(like the ones Old Student gave) but I think a significant portion of those who do aren't necessarily making a moral statement. In other words, it's not that they wouldn't work for the CIA because of this or that moral reason, it's just that they're scared to work for the CIA and are passing their cowardice off as morality.

Once I was tempted, but I didn't have good grades at high school. Some years later after an exam for police they tempted me with an unbelievable offer, but then I turned them down knowing what's inside their "grinder".Today,if I'm approached, but its not the case,I would tell them to find a decent job.

I tried to get a job as a church music director on a military base. Shortly after they tried to vet me, I was told the job was on hold and they weren't interested. I do know for a fact they hired someone else, and am pretty sure they looked at my social media posts and figured out I was anti-war and was immediately disqualified. I think any alphabet agency would be able to figure out that an applicant was on Avalon and therefore not qualified. I doubt that they would give anyone a straight answer as to why they were unemployable.

Depends on the salary and bonuses.

I might not be very serious.

Neither yes nor no. Here, in addition to the overall training that everyone has, including the spiritual one, there is a whole protocol to follow inside and outside.

Among many other things, you need to keep your locker clean and write a leadership diary every day, some protocols require the supervision of organized crime groups inside, and it is a dangerous clean kitchen chained by the price and bet of a Russian roulette like:"who pays more".
One actually lives in the field of work in an exorbitant luxury, while car trafficking and more, drugs and protection taxes, are collected in unknown but suspected directions and no one knows who is with whom; here comes the element of politics and the fight between clans and there is no protocol to save you for your signature to "use the weapon".

    In addition, the activities are of course extended outside the national network where mobilized structures are placed under clear restrictions and guidelines in the vision of the EU, BRIC and NATO;
In short, it is a completely different world for which I do not have to be paid to manage it, because I feel it to the base of society, when I take my first step on the street.

“- Edward Wilson: If we continue down this road, there will be a third world war. I don't think either of us wants a real war.
    - Ulysses: What would you do for a living then?”

I would be a brilliant gardener with many years of higher education and I would be "sufficient for the space I occupy"
And all this to be just human.

I'm a shrink, I Loved this movie because its one of the few that reveal what it's really like to do good therapy with another human soul. It also revealed those shrinks in academia who live in Ivory towers controlled by the system and don't know how to tx anybody, just pump out the letter agencies distorted research.

If you have a skill that they want bad enough, they don't really care about some things. Some of this discussion needs to be qualified as to what the position they are recruiting for is. Not all positions are some kind of operative, some are analyst positions, and they are looking for skills they need, not putting anyone through some kind of bootcamp.
