    I first want to point out that I'm not saying that the Fact or Faked show is completely trustworthy. Some have criticized the show for presenting inaccurate information, and I know they are trying to be entertaining and present things in an interesting way, but the explanation from the following clip makes sense to me in relation to what was happening in the particular area that they were studying. You can see in the video that the road looks like it slopes uphill, but surveyor equipment showed that it was a slight downhill slope:
