Music lyrics - influences and hidden meanings and lost souls
It's awful horrible that Dolores O'Riordan passed at the young age of 46. I feel as if it is foul play, not just a alcohol related incident. What was she fighting in her head?
The Cranberries Lyrics
"Zombie" 1994
Another head hangs lowly
Child is slowly taken
And the violence caused such silence
Who are we mistaken
But you see it's not me
It's not my family
In your head, in your head
They are fighting
With their tanks and their bombs
And their bombs and their guns
In your head, in your head
They are cryin'
In your head, in your head
Zombie, zombie, zombie, hey, hey
What's in your head, in your head
Zombie, zombie, zombie, hey, hey, hey, oh
Dou, dou, dou, dou
Dou, dou, dou, dou
Dou, dou, dou, dou
Dou, dou, dou, dou
Another mother's breakin'
Heart is taking over
When the violence causes silence
We must be mistaken
It's the same old theme
Since nineteen-sixteen
In your head, in your head
They're still fightin'
With their tanks and their bombs
And their bombs and their guns
In your head, in your head
They are dyin'
In your head, in your head
Zombie, zombie, zombie, hey, hey
What's in your head, in your head
Zombie, zombie, zombie, hey, hey, hey
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Hey, oh, ya, ya-a

What was Cheap Trick thinking? I think I mentioned this in another post.
Cheap Trick Lyrics
"Dream Police" 1979
The dream police, they live inside of my head
The dream police, they come to me in my bed
The dream police, they're coming to arrest me, oh, no
You know that talk is cheap
And those rumors ain't nice
And when I fall asleep
I don't think I'll survive the night, the night
'Cause they're waiting for me
They're looking for me
Every single night
They're driving me insane
Those men inside my brain
The dream police, they live inside of my head (live inside of my head)
The dream police, they come to me in my bed (come to me in my bed)
The dream police, they're coming to arrest me, oh, no
Well, I can't tell lies
'Cause they're listening to me
And when I fall asleep
Bet they're spying on me tonight, tonight
'Cause they're waiting for me
They're looking for me
Every single night
They're driving me insane
Those men inside my brain
I try to sleep, they're wide awake, they won't let me alone
They don't get paid to take vacations or let me alone
They spy on me, I try to hide, they won't let me alone
They persecute me, they're the judge and jury all in one
'Cause they're waiting for me
They're looking for me
Every single night
They're driving me insane
Those men inside my brain
The dream police, they live inside of my head (live inside of my head)
The dream police, they come to me in my bed (come to me in my bed)
The dream police, they're coming to arrest me
The dream police (police, police)
The dream police (police, police)
The dream police (police, police)
The dream police (police, police)
The dream police (police, police)
The dream police (police, police)

Re: Music lyrics - influences and hidden meanings and lost souls
We lost Freddie Mercury at age 45. David Bowie aged okay at 69.
The good friends screaming let me out reminds me of the instigators.
Queen & David Bowie Lyrics
"Under Pressure"
Pressure: pushing down on me,
Pressing down on you, no man ask for.
Under pressure that burns a building down,
Splits a family in two,
Puts people on streets.
That's OK.
That's the terror of knowing
What this world is about.
Watching some good friends screaming,
"Let me out!"
Tomorrow gets me higher.
Pressure on people, people on streets.
OK.
Chippin' around, kick my brains 'round the floor.
These are the days: it never rains but it pours.
People on streets.
People on streets.
It's the terror of knowing
What this world is about.
Watching some good friends screaming,
"Let me out!"
Tomorrow gets me higher, higher, high!
Pressure on people, people on streets.
Turned away from it all like a blind man.
Sat on a fence, but it don't work.
Keep coming up with love, but it's so slashed and torn.
Why, why, why!?
Love, love, love, love, love.
Insanity laughs under pressure.
We're breaking.
Can't we give ourselves one more chance?
Why can't we give love that one more chance?
Why can't we give love, give love, give love, give love, give love, give love, give love, give love, give love?
'Cause love's such an old-fashioned word,
And love dares you to care for the people on the edge of the night,
And love dares you to change our way of caring about ourselves.
This is our last dance.
This is our last dance.
This is ourselves.
Under pressure.
Under pressure.
Pressure.

Re: Music lyrics - influences and hidden meanings and lost souls
I wonder if a lot of these stars are subject to targeting particularly if they do not conform to specific narratives.
The reason is they generally command large audiences which means they bend the ears of many with literal and passive influences, not just the music.
John Lennon is a good example of massive influence and a challenging narrative when he communicated with his fan base particularly about religion. It is my opinion, his death was planned on.
