Australia could be forced to beg China to lift its export ban on a critical fluid needed for truck engines to start amid fears supplies will start running out before Christmas.
Half of the long-haul fleet of trucks on the road have a diesel engine that require urea to run and without trucks moving, essential goods can't be stacked on shelves.
The National Road Transport Association fears Australia's supply chain could collapse within eight weeks unless China lifts its export ban on the chemical.
With China supplying 80 per cent of the Asia-Pacific's diesel-grade urea, the group's CEO Warren Clark is calling on Trade Minister Dan Tehan to 'find an alternative source'.
Truck drivers are now worried about running out of the essential fluid well before Christmas, not the end of January as earlier feared, with chemical company Incitec Pivot no longer making urea in Brisbane.
Incitec Pivot, Australia's only producer of this essential substance, has already signalled it will stop making urea in Brisbane as it eyes a green future.

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk visited the Gibson Island plant with billionaire Fortescue Metals chairman Andrew Forrest as his company announced the idea of jointly producing 50,000 tonnes of renewable hydrogen a year.
That was exactly the intent of the globalists/satanic cult deindustrialize western nations and make china (their model for the NWO) the only supplier. Then any time a country steps out of line they cut off theirs supplies as a form of punishment.
In this instance it would be no surprise if the closing down of the urea manufacture was timed and deliberate.
When COVID plandemic hit, SCOMO could mobilize the army to produce 3D printed plastic bottles for locally produced hand sanitizer when we couldn't get supply from china.
But in this instance which would cause a national emergency you think SCOMO or Pallchook (QLD Premier) would step in and ensure the production continues, but where are they MIA.
The other point is urea is a fertilizer therefore the double whammy is it is going to affect both food production and supply. Not only in delivery but also in cost.
Here in Australia back in the 1970's we literally did not have to import anything we made it all.
But thanks to the politicians and globalists here we stand at the mercy of china.
So how does that affect the average Australian?
A good indicator of the cost of food is banana's, made here in Australia shipped in to NSW from QLD. A year ago they cost $2.00 a kilogram now they cost $4.00 a kilogram.
That is a 100% increase within one year so how much does it now cost you to do your weekly grocery shopping. twice as much would be close to the mark.

Next year Australia's last factory that produces urea (a fertiliser) will shut making our food security dependent on imports.
We can only grow so much food on our dry continent because of modern fertilisers. The most commonly used fertiliser is urea and it is made from natural gas.
China and Russia have banned the export of urea to protect their food security, just as we stop producing oil and gas putting at risk our ability to grow food.
I write in the Courier Mail today about why if we want to keep feeding ourselves we need to discover new sources of oil and gas.

DLP Calls for Review of the 1975 Lima Declaration
