Is the UK electoral system being rigged right under our noses ?


I'm sure all UK members are familiar with those forms they send out almost yearly, where we have to update the list of residents at the address so that the electoral register can be made as up to date as possible ready for the next election, right ?

For my entire life, those forms came with a dire warning that if they were not filled in and returned there was a penalty of a fine. In other words, they made very sure they got the most accurate data possible.

Last year, in my own case at least, that changed.

It clearly stated that if there was no change to the list of residents, there was no need to return the form. (WHAT ?!!!)

Think that through, see if you see the problem I see.

I'd also like UK people to say if they got those same forms that stated they didn't have to return them if there was no change. Or was it just in my area ?

from memory - yes same where I live in the Midlands - no need to return the form if no changes... (or go online to do it...)

I just had a quick look and this is from the Coventry area (that's not where I live but it is probably all the same..)

It's likely always been rigged. The interesting aspect is if they now want to make the rigging obvious as recently happened in the US?

Thanks for reports about the forms being the same as the one I got. That gets me one further step down the road with this.

Ok, maybe I'm missing something, because I'm stuck in the old paper and ink mentality, or maybe I'm not.

Run this example through your minds with me.

. . . I'm an old guy living alone. I haven't changed address in decades. I croak, from covid treatment protocol in my local hospital. An electoral register form drops through the letter box of my cold empty hovel. The form never gets returned. There are thousands like me, same story.

How do the government actually process all that information ?

I assume they used to do something quite labour intensive, like count things and tally things and put tallies in the right places, and most important of all, include living electors in the register and remove dead ones. You-know, basic common sense and genuine practice in a genuine endeavour to do something fairly complicated properly and to the best of their ability.

They now seem to have set up a "DEFAULT" scenario, "if we don't here from you, we know you're OK" . . . . Does that translate directly to electronic database management as in updating the entry with the data from the last version of the entry ?

Further, they obviously have a "column" for what I'll call 'Non Returners'. As another example scenario, let's say that column in my area has 30,000 entries, that's forms that were not returned. They can run that list up against another database column in another system (or likely even the same system, these days) that has all the registered deaths data. From doing that, they can produce yet another, smaller, column of 'Non Returners' that were also registered deaths.

Stealthily, without crowing about it, they can put all those names/identities into a secret pool as a reserve to be available for election night top-up fraud. As well as that, I know that in my area, the actual polling stations and ballot gathering is handled by people who are obviously of one political loyalty. It's always been like that, ever since I came to live here 24 years ago. It's the party that always wins, at least, it did, from the 1950s all the way up to the last one where they got beaten due to a massive 'working class' tactical vote to clear the log jam in Westminster over the stay or leave debacle.



Well, you might say, they could do all that anyway without the non returned forms factor. Ok, explain it all to me logically, convince me.

The creepiest thought of all, is that dead people are never going to rumble a postal vote scam that uses their identity to swing a constituency in favour of a red or blue puppet, away from a people's revolutionary candidate. Especially if those dead people were people who lived alone before they got covicided.

Norman, I haven't got a clue, but everything you state is definitely on the cards. Definitely. Knowing how the govt, et al lied to us over the last two years, I'd say it is pretty certain they plan some shenanigans behind the scenes and it doesn't have our welfare in mind. They scammed USA citizens with a rigged 'election' so Biden 'won', so it's my very strong bet that this has been practised the world over. To be honest, I think those electoral forms are a pain in the arse - even though you don't have to fill them in, but it was always the 'return or else' threat that really got me and I can own up and say that I don't remember what it said to that effect, as I don't pay much attention to 'official' stuff which drops through my letterbox. So much is going behind the scenes now - the scenery is being shifted while we are distracted with Ukraine (not me, I've seen through those diversionary tactics) that its certain they are planning a new reality.

I'm so glad I'm the age I am (68) that I won't be around to experience the full horror of what they have planned, and maybe it won't come to that, and you and I will have a ringside seat (oh please!) to watch the old system fall and be there to help build a new world.
In the meantime, there are many ways in which to deal with such tedious paperwork and in my case it contributes to the rotting process of the compost heap at the back of my garden..

You can bet your bottom dollar national and regional elections, at least, are rigged. What they do from time- to- time is rejigger the rig. The “rejig” is for the benefit of the established powers. Always. They never make a change that even potentially threatens the establishment and the ensconced powers.

The default position, as Norman points out, is wrong. And that’s the rejig.

The default should be that there has been a change. And, thus, in the absence of a response updating the status, that address and putative voters should be stricken from the voting rolls.
