I Worked at Area 51 and Skinwalker Ranch | Somewhere in the Skies

This is a fascinating interview, and includes Mr Bartel's chilling account of his "large wolf" encounter(s).

On episode 274 of SOMEWHERE IN THE SKIES, we are joined by United States Air Force veteran, and former employee of both Area 51 and Skinwalker Ranch, Christopher Bartel. Bartel runs us through his time at both of these highly mysterious locations and the things he witnessed and experienced while working there. Having worked for Robert Bigelow's BAASS for eight years, six of which were spent stationed at Skinwalker Ranch, Bartel created The Skinwalker Ranch Series, a series of landscape photographs taken from 2010 to 2016 that depict the ranch in its raw state, and also function as a visual memoir of the time he spent there. Bartel shares his documentation of the Native American connections to the ranch, and gives his honest thoughts on how the investigations were conducted. He also discusses the highly controversial question of whether it not he and others were used as "guinea pigs" to see how the ranch were affect them physically. It's a wide-ranging discussion with brutal honesty from someone who was there to try to uncover the secret of Skinwalker Ranch.

Secrets of the CIA's Final Days in Vietnam (1985)

John R. Stockwell (born 1937) is a former CIA officer who became a critic of United States government policies after serving seven tours of duty over thirteen years. Having managed American involvement in the Angolan Civil War as Chief of the Angola Task Force during its 1975 covert operations, he resigned and wrote the best-selling In Search of Enemies.

Born in Angleton, Texas, Stockwell's Presbyterian father moved the family to the Belgian Congo when he was posted there to provide engineering assistance. Stockwell attended school in Lubondai before studying in the Plan II Honors program at the University of Texas.

As a Marine, Stockwell was a CIA paramilitary intelligence case officer in three wars: the Congo Crisis, the Vietnam War, and the Angolan War of Independence. His military rank is Major. Beginning his career in 1964, Stockwell spent six years in Africa, Chief of Base in the Katanga during the Bob Denard invasion in 1968, then Chief of Station in Bujumbura, Burundi in 1970, before being transferred to Vietnam to oversee intelligence operations in the Tay Ninh province and was awarded the CIA Intelligence Medal of Merit for keeping his post open until the last days of the Vietnam War in 1975.

What Happened During the Infamous Disco Demolition Night?

On July 12, 1979, the term "disco inferno" took on a whole new meaning. As the "disco '70s" drew to a close, Chicago radio DJ Steve Dahl decided to speed up the process by promoting a Demolition Disco Night in between games at a White Sox double-header at Comiskey Park. He invited the listeners of his popular radio show to come out to the game and set some records on fire, and tens of thousands showed up to bid a not-so-fond farewell to disco. But during the event, things got seriously out of hand.

Fascinating. Seems like part of the Earth-circuits, must involve electricity and magnetism. Am surprised Ben Davidson hasn’t mentioned this. The article was published Aug ‘18, and says the paper was new.

Surely there are sensors which can detect electric current via the induced magnetic swirl. Iirc, light passing through magnetic regions in other galaxies gets polarized in a measurable and meaningful way. Heck, shoot some rockets up there with direct sensors. “Abstract:
One of the recent developments in ionospheric research was the introduction of a subauroralspectacle called STEVE (Strong Thermal Emission Velocity Enhancement). Although STEVE has been documented by amateur night sky watchers for decades, it is an exciting new upper atmosphericphenomenon for the scientific community. Observedfirst by amateur auroral photographers, STEVEappeared as a narrow luminous structure across the night sky. Currently, only one scientific study has focusedon STEVE, revealing that it corresponds to a narrow (tens of kilometers in north-south extent) and long(thousands of kilometers in east-west direction) structure located in the subauroral region. An important and fundamental question that arises from this study is the origin of STEVE; more specifically, does STEVE correspond to a new ionospheric phenomenon or is it due to particle precipitation? In this letter, we analyze a STEVE event on 28 March 2008 observed by Time History of Events and Macroscale Interactions during Substorms (THEMIS) ground-based All-Sky Imagers and a Polar Orbiting Environmental Satellite (POES). ThePOES-17 satellite crossed STEVE at the center of the All-Sky Imager field-of-view, allowing us to collect particle data simultaneously. These concurrent measurements show that STEVE might not be associated with particle precipitation (electrons or ions). Therefore, this event suggests that STEVE’s skyglow (which we defined to be unrelated to aurora or airglow) could be generated in the ionosphere.

Plain Language Summary:
Recently, the scientific community stumbled upon a rare atmospheric phenomenon called Strong Thermal Emission Velocity Enhancement (STEVE) that has been welldocumented by amateur auroral photographers for decades. STEVE appears across the night sky as anextremely narrow ribbon of vibrant purple and white hues. In this letter, we address an importantfundamental question: Is STEVE caused by particle precipitation like aurora or is it produced by a newionospheric phenomenon? We analyzed a STEVE event using a network of ground-based All-Sky Imagersacross Canada and energetic particle detectors on one of National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’sPolar Orbiting Environmental Satellites. Our results verify that this STEVE event is clearly distinct from theaurora since it is characterized by the absence of particle precipitation. Interestingly, its skyglow could begenerated by a new and fundamentally different mechanism in the ionosphere.“
