43 Years Under Sanctions: How Iran Built Drones

Although Iran has survived under sanctions for nearly half a century, the country has shown a remarkable ability to produce, reverse engineer, and develop its own unmanned aerial vehicles.

Iran became interested in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), or drones for short, in the 1980s during the Iran-Iraq War (1980-1988). The first family of Iranian drones was the Ababil, which were simple mechanisms called “flying munitions.” Together with reconnaissance UAVs developed somewhat later, they were successfully used on the battle fronts.
In the post-war period, Tehran decided to concentrate its efforts on the creation and development of unmanned aerial systems. The Iranian aviation industry included several scientific and technical organizations, a number of aircraft construction and aircraft repair plants, as well as numerous related enterprises producing various components. Virtually all the enterprises in this industry, which are supervised by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), are in one way or another involved in the development and production of UAVs.
Iran then started the mass production of drones, which could compensate for the insufficient capacity of Iran's Air Force, including the inability to build fully-fledged combat aircraft.
Iran has made significant progress in the development and production of a full range of UAVs of all major classes, from light tactical reconnaissance vehicles to heavy reconnaissance and strike systems, both carrying guided aerial bombs and short-range missiles, and barraging munitions, the so-called kamikaze drones.
Such progress is based on several fundamentals: scientific and technical cooperation, primarily with China; the use of technologies and components for their own production, obtained officially, semi-officially or unofficially (intelligence); and the acquisition of real samples of American and Israeli drones for the purpose of deep study and possible reverse engineering.
Iran has so far produced about 40 models of various drones. The main families (lines) of Iranian UAVs are Ababil, Kaman, Kian, Mohajer, and Shahed.

According to experts, Iran's most effective and powerful drones are represented by the Shahed, Mohajer, Kaman, and Kian families.
    Shahed 129
This drone is considered one of the most capable UAVs in Iran's arsenal. Visually, it strongly resembles the US RQ-1 / MQ-1 Predator. It made its first flight in the spring of 2012.

But backwards, replace Shanghai for any city in the west and you get closer to the truth, at least these days

As pointed out here multiple times by multiple people, once WW2 ended, the top of the Nazi culture found refugee in the US, and it remains well and alive over there.

Digital book burning is a thing

    https://www.foxnews.com/media/tucker...-disagree-with
Quote So you go on Amazon.com and you remember this started as a bookstore and online bookstore. It's the biggest bookstore in the world. They have everything. There's nothing you can't find an Amazon, including used books. So if you were to go into Amazon to read books by a man who is in the news and whose ideas are directly bearing on world events, you look for a guy called Aleksandr Dugin.

Dugin is one of Russia's most famous authors and political philosophers. He doesn't work for the government; he doesn't work for Vladimir Putin. He's just a philosopher. So if you're interested in like, "What are they thinking over there?'" you would search Dugin's author page on Amazon, but you would not find any results. Really? Kind of a big author to be left off Amazon.
So we reached out to Amazon to ask, "Why can't we find any books by this guy?" And then we realize because he's been banned from Amazon. So then we asked Amazon for a list of all books and authors who've been banned from their platform, and they wouldn't give it to us. So we went back and forth, back and forth. And finally, Amazon provided a six-word response, and we're quoting: "Amazon complies with all applicable laws."

Applicable laws? Well, in the United States, there are no laws against publishing books because we have the First Amendment. The government can never, under any circumstances, censor any book. Period. Or anything that you have to say. Period. Because that's the core of our Bill of Rights.

Then we learned that Amazon and the Justice Department were ignoring our Bill of Rights. Amazon apparently based its decision on a Treasury Department designation concerning "disinformation." And that designation applies not only to Dugin, but also to his family, though not to his daughter, who was murdered recently by the Ukrainian government. But we're not allowed to say that. What did she do wrong? Well, I guess she said the wrong thing, but that's cool because we're fighting for freedom.

But that's not the point. The point is in our country, which is very different from Ukraine, we're allowed to read whatever we want. But we can't now because the Biden administration is demanding that the biggest bookseller in the world censor books that they disagree with, and Amazon complies without asking any questions. Now, this is as clear a violation of the First Amendment as you could concoct in a law school class.

So then we reach out to the Treasury Department. Did this really happen? Yeah, it did. They essentially confirmed it: "We don't comment on possible enforcement matters, but the Treasury Department continues to vigorously enforce Russia-related sanctions."
Quote "We don't comment on possible enforcement matters, but the Treasury Department continues to vigorously enforce Russia-related sanctions."
How interesting, so censoring books so that people in the US can't read them or understand other culture equals "enforcing Russia-related sanctions"

The only people harmed here are US citizens. Retarded logic it seems. But we know that this is fascism in plain view, not even pretending anymore, the distortion of the truth and the manipulation of reality is fully achieved in the US by always blaming someone else for "the need to protect you"

"If it wasn't for the evil Russians, we would not have to ban these books that we don't want you to read because reading them gives you a different view of the world, and we need you to stay dumb and manipulable"

No doubt the usual suspects will applaud this just because it helps remove Russian culture or ideas from the reach of people, even if they shoot themselves in the foot by allowing to make it normal and acceptable to censor or ban books. So who's next? Once the door is open, anything can and will come through on time, temptation and power are hard to contain and control, and the toddlers at the white house are not trained to understand self-control

    Dummies

And it seems to me that the ones on the bad side of history, and the ones repeating the mistakes of the past, have already been identified since some time ago

Since when, being a journalist in the west is a crime, or a life endangering occupation? Who are the real ones killing people or destroying their lives for speaking inconvenient truths? History repeating, but 'the good guys' were the real criminals all along

All Dugin’s work is available on Amazon in the UK, and the other main online book sellers here. Must just be in the US.

The banning of books on a website in the US is indeed worrying, but it is a pale reflection of Putin’s crackdown on any form of free speech. In March, he amended the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, introduced criminal liability for the public dissemination of “deliberately misleading information” and “discrediting the use of the Russian Federation Armed Forces.”

As a result, the main social media sites, Russian-language outlets based outside of Russia and major foreign language news channels are all blocked - and anyone spreading what he calls ‘false information’ or ‘discrediting’ Russia’s actions in Ukraine will face fines and up to 15 years in prison. Any opposition to the Kremlin is a criminal act there now, and pretty well all independent media outlets have been silenced. Of course, it's not just the media that is being censored: political opponents, NGOs, civil rights groups, bloggers, the general population …

The UN Office of the High Commissioner on Human Rights said, “These restrictions on media and access to information online choking the last vestiges of independent, pluralistic media in Russia, but they are also depriving the population of their right to access diverse news and views at this critical time when millions of Russians legitimately want to know more about the situation in Ukraine.”

Putin also wants a new world order, and is a member of the Eastern Economic Forum. He's no messiah. Zelensky is a budget version of Putin, but they are made of the same stuff - two peas in a pod. One is the mainstream bogy man and the other is painted as some kind of saint. Holistically they are the same. No way is Putin our hero or saviour; he's a master of propaganda and censorship. Putin has been playing his brutal game for about ten years, waiting for the perfect storm of oppression against Russians in Ukraine. So it looks to me like Putin has accidentally on purpose manufactured the moral high-ground over the last ten years, but after ten years it seems legit looking at it fresh today. It's not that simple, he let them rot so he could pick up the pieces and further expansion.

But while Putin would love to usher in the new world order, and censor everything, the burning issue is the media spin painting Zelensky as some kind of saint. So ludicrously so the Zelensky candle sums it up. The issue is less that Putin is a dickhead, the issue is the threat of perpetual war pushed by the bat-****-insane western war mongers who don't have Ukraine or Russia in their best interests, they want perpetual war. It would be the mother of all distractions from covid/vaccine injuries, their best excuse to introduce digital tracked id, and generally keep us in a state of fear. But Putin is a little schmuck make no mistake.

Xi and Putin want to create a new world order. Russia’s setback in Ukraine could spoil their plans

    • Putin Takes Russia-Ukraine War to Next Level | Nationwide Blackouts in Ukraine?:

Russia Ukraine War reaches a new level as Ukraine suffers massive, nationwide blackouts and power cuts. Vladimir Putin is now crippling Zelensky’s government by tearing apart Ukraine’s critical civilian infrastructure. Ukraine’s energy grid has become the latest target for Putin as winter approaches in the eastern European country. Watch to know more.
    • Will this mean Ukraine attacks Nuclear Power Plant on Eastern Ukraine as retaliation? (which is an escalation retaliation of retaliations from both sides).

Ukrainian strike kills one journalist, injures at least 10 – Russian official

At least one journalist was killed and several others injured in an overnight Ukrainian strike on a crossing point over the Dnepr River in the city of Kherson, a senior official with Russia’s Civic Chamber said on Friday.

“We have 10 journalists alone injured, one died. Two relatives of the journalists were killed, another one is in a critical condition,” Aleksandr Malkevich told the broadcaster Rossiya 24.

Earlier, the deputy head of the Kherson Region administration, Kirill Stremousov, said the strike had killed four civilians. A further 13 were wounded, according to the local health service. Stremousov claimed that the Ukrainian military targeted “the journalists deliberately, to eliminate those who are covering the situation in Kherson Region.”

According to local emergency services, the attack was carried out with the use of US-supplied HIMARS multiple rocket launchers. The Ukrainian troops fired at least 12 missiles at the river crossing near the Antonovsky Bridge, which had been damaged in previous repeated strikes, with 11 of the munitions intercepted by anti-aircraft defenses.

The attack came as Russia announced the relocation of civilians from the right bank of the Dnepr river in Kherson Region, citing the overall “tense” situation on the frontline, as well as intelligence on Kiev’s plans destroy the dam of a local hydroelectric power plant. Some 15,000 civilians have been relocated already, with a total of 60,000 planned to be evacuated.

Russia reveals details of rare contact with US military chief

Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu has had rare direct contact with US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, the Russian military reported on Friday.

According to the short readout, the two top officials “discussed issues of international security, including the situation in Ukraine” over the phone.

The last phone call between Shoigu and Austin was reported in May, with both sides giving away few details about it. It was the first direct conversation between the officials since Russia sent troops into Ukraine in late February.

Sources cited by Reuters revealed at the time that the call lasted for about an hour and failed to solve any specific matter. The exchange was initiated by Washington, Russian media reported.

    Ukraine reacts to Truss resignation
The Ukrainian government has posted a message on its official Twitter account, which some saw as a direct endorsement of former Prime Minister Boris Johnson returning to power. The now-deleted meme, reading “Better call Boris,” quickly drew flak however, with some Britons even crying “meddling.”

The former premier has been named by the pollster YouGov as one of the favorites in the race for 10 Downing Street after his successor, Liz Truss resigned on Thursday.

The post featured the main character of AMC’s TV drama Better Call Saul holding a cut-out of Johnson with an inscription “Better Call Boris” next to it.

Appearing on the Ukrainian government’s official account on Thursday, the message quickly attracted international attention, and a fair share of criticism, before being deleted the same day.

Steve Peers, a professor of EU law at the University of Essex, tweeted: “Have you considered not commenting on other countries’ political processes – with a view to not alienating your broad base of support, and because you simply don’t understand what’s going on there?”

Another social media user wrote: “Very inappropriate to meddle in a country’s internal affairs in this way.”

“Better call Boris what?! This tweet has to be a bad joke and not sure what intention of it is,” one more netizen chimed in.

Others pointed out Ukrainian officials’ odd choice of the character to base their meme on, as the protagonist Saul Goodman is portrayed in the series as an unethical attorney.

Labour Party leader, Sir Keir Starmer said he was “rather surprised” by the tweet, adding, however, that this will not affect his party’s unwavering support of Ukraine in the face of Russia’s military offensive.

Boris Johnson, who was forced to step down in early September following a series of scandals, had developed a close rapport with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky during his time in office. He was one of the most vocal supporters of Kiev.

Johnson’s successor, Liz Truss, survived only six weeks in power, and had to resign on Thursday amid mounting pressure from fellow Conservatives.

The party is now scrambling to elect a new leader, with Johnson widely touted as one of the likely candidates.

Indonesia may fully join BRICS, says envoy in Moscow

Jakarta has to discuss the country’s future role in the integration, weighing everything, after which the government would take its decision, Jose Tavares stressed

MOSCOW, October 21. /TASS/. Indonesia may fully join the BRICS format (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa), the country’s ambassador to Russia Jose Tavares said in an interview with TASS.

"I hear my president spoke for it (full membership in the integration - TASS) during the BRICS summit. There is a possibility for Indonesia to fully join BRICS," he said, adding though that the embassy had not yet received any additional information on that.

Jakarta has to discuss the country’s future role in the integration, weighing everything, after which the government would take its decision, Tavares said.

Speaking about the advantages that Indonesia sees for itself in BRICS membership, the diplomat mentioned joining its development bank as one of pluses.

Earlier, Russian Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko said Indonesia wanted to join the BRICS format.

Indonesia to ensure Putin’s security at G20 summit — ambassador

The G20 will hold its 17th summit in Bali on November 15-16, 2022
MOSCOW, October 21. /TASS/. Indonesia has a vast experience in hosting major international conferences, so it will provide security for Russian President Vladimir Putin during his participation in the G20 summit, Indonesia’s Ambassador to Russia Jose Tavares said in an interview with TASS on Friday.

Tavares assured TASS that as far as Putin’s security at the G20 is concerned, Indonesia has considerable experience in hosting such major international conferences and summits as the APEC, ASEAN and the East Asia Summit.

The ambassador pledged that his country would do its utmost to ensure the security and safety of all the participants, and it would be their top priority as the host country.

Tavares pointed out that Indonesia hopes that Vladimir Putin will come to the summit, but added that it is better to ask the Russian authorities about his participation. However, Indonesia does expect Putin to attend the summit in person.

The invitation has already been extended, and the Indonesian president personally handed Putin the invitation when meeting him in Moscow, the diplomat said, expressing hope for the Russian president’s participation.

The G20 will hold its 17th summit in Bali on November 15-16, 2022. The summit will be the culmination of a series of ministerial meetings, working groups and engagement groups held during the year of Indonesia's G20 presidency.
