I have come to the spot in my life where I believe that we are here only to experience.

Success needs failure , love needs hate, kindness needs killing in order to separate, in order to understand hot from cold big from small.

This is very hard to understand. We believe in a measuring stick of good and bad, regarding reward for our goodness and punishment for our bad.
Good gets the bone, bad, punished. But what is good and bad?

This is indeed an experience and we have a saying: "You can't learn to swim by standing on the shore", but still we can fail in this journey when wrong choices are made. In whatever circumstances we are in, our choices will determine our future. So we are not here as a neutral observer, even if sometimes it's needed to be that way, but we are here to make conscious choices, that will determine our next path. The evil choices made consciously are the worst choices a human can make and will have it's consequences, but justice works differently in this infinite creation, it doesn't comes instantly most of the time, but surely it will come. Some call it karma, but I prefer to call it divine justice.

About 3 or 4 weeks ago I was having a really interesting dialogue with a friend of mine around the concept of 'failure'. After seeing you post this thread I saw your explanation and it was pretty darned near smack bang on the money.

The short version of events is that there isn't any such thing as failure but there may be a sense of something not yet accomplished or experienced - a feeling of incompleteness perhaps. You agree to reincarnate here to experience what you must, with whom you must, as often as you must, for as long as you must; it is (indeed) impossible to 'fail' - the concept is redundant. Outcomes may not always equal expectation because they are meant to; sometimes they may exceed expectation, because they are meant to. This doesn't preclude making a choice, a decision - the act of being actively encourages that - or preventing someone taking a shot and aiming as high as they can go; that should always be encouraged. Wisdom over time focuses a person's energy on what it is that they may best accomplish with the talents they have, and an understanding of what the outcomes actually may mean. And on many occasions those outcomes and experiences will be replete with deep meaning.

I spent over 25 years making music in a band that I formed with a friend where we harboured dreams of making it a livelihood and full time paying occupation. That didn't happen, but that wasn't failure.

It was an enriching fully empowering and deeply rewarding experience

Tintin. We could discuss this for hours. I am always present to the idea that there is nothing to do. Success and failure are constructions in a sense.
example, i am a very industrious bizzy bee in my creative life, always creating striving, making, trying etc. For what?

On the flipside, my brother gave up all such aspirations, and presently sits and watches TV, shows, movies whatever from literally morning to night. its all he feels like doing. he has removed himself from the game.
Is he wasting his time? Who's to say? Am I wasting my time? perhaps? Can you even waste time? Is there such a thing?

Your music, my art and music etc is the residue of our particular experience, like the trail a snail leaves behind. Why does any of it matter? Whittling a stick is experiencing as well
i guess you cant help BUT experience. its a diary of consciousness I suppose. Even sleeping is experience.

we collectively assign meaning to it all. we want to know we're real, and we count , mostly to others, because most of us don't know what we are unless by being defined by others. am I good looking? is my art good? meaning do I make the grade compared to others?

I have often thought that most (certainly not all) people want to feel as though their life has exceptional meaning and that they want to make an impact on the world. I think that sensitivity is built into our DNA not quite as strongly as survival or reproduction but it is certainly within us. That is one of the reasons why failure (whatever one's definition is) feels dreadful or unacceptable to most people. That is also why it is so easy to get people to take on big world-changing issues, such as climate change, abortion, racial injustice, or any number of social justice concerns.

These social justice warriors feel a sense of pride, accomplishment, and unspoken superiority. The key word in the last sentence is warrior, I would go as far as to say it is the fight the struggle, and the conflict which makes their efforts rewarding. This need to feel significant is precisely why the world feels so upside down. Many people climb on the social justice bandwagon for all the wrong reasons, it feeds their ego and their sense of feeling self-important, and many do it simply for appearance or to virtue signal. Ultimately this lunacy will pass and the world will return to order. The system may not return in a way to everyone's liking but it will no less be a structure that everyone can live within.

As miscellaneous or unimportant as this may sound we should all be focused on the struggle between good and evil in everything thing we do and with every breath we take. For the vast majority of people (but not all), we can absolutely make a difference in how we treat each other every minute of every day. This is how we can collectively change and impact our world for the better. It is the easiest, fastest, and most simple way to solve big issues in our world but yet the most difficult to understand.

There's something you wrote that I'll never forget: paraphrasing from memory: "Sometimes people walk round with expressions like they're pre-offended.". That changed my life.

And while my own belief system is slightly incompatible with the sentiment in the OP, because my dogma has a demand on accurate judging (but not condemnation), my own dogma would have me be more light hearted which I struggle with. But I think you're onto something here

example/ well im in this deep, cant abandon it now kinda stuff. a friend of mine told me she thinks people like covid. that in their otherwise mundane daily life, they can be a warrior for something, even if that thing is false. they can go on their mission of STOP COVID! and walk around spotting the enemy.
I see that in the paranormal ufo community as well. The only activities free of some of this are sports which have measurable stats. You can actually win a game, although it only guarantees that you won, not necessarily happiness, love or anything else.
Your comment about good and evil is the answer for me. We can proceed everyday, not matter what we do, choosing to bring more light into others, or more darkness. Good or evil. And we do have that choice
